mnurda (434), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Jun 14, 2007 On tap at The Beer Bistro in Toronto. Nice and hoppy. great carbonation. Loved it. tomthompson89 (1459), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 25, 2007 nice golden color, good amount of head, some hops on the nose, little malt. good hop bitterness on the tongue refreshing VeloVampire (483), Parkdale, Toronto, Ontario, Canada Apr 21, 2007 341 ml bottle - pours clear light honey with a large thick and frothy white head that lasts and lasts and leaves beautiful lacing. Delicate, champagne-like carbonation. Aroma very fruity and grassy with light caramel malt. So far, very true to style. Flavour is a delicious balance of sweet grainy malt and crisp, flowery hops. A note of white grape as well. Nice dry finish with that true-to-pils-style Saaz bite. Excellent stuff, and I had forgotten how good it is when fresh. A perfect rediscovery just in time for the start of warm days. aerosol999 (113), Quebec, Canada Apr 15, 2007 Appearance: Light straw with big fluffy white head.
Aroma: Light candyish malt with floral hop aroma. Smells of sweet tarts and geraniums.
Flavour: Dry rich malt character with full floral hop taste. Good balance between bitterness and malt.
Mouthfeel: Dry and sparkling. Fluffy and light bodied
Overall: Crisp dry pilsner rich and full but finishes dry as a bone. Lingering floral hop character. Very clean. OKBeer (1159), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Apr 13, 2007 Sample at April 2007 Brewnosers meeting. Pale yellow, hazy, with a mostly lasting creamy and frothy white head. Honey, floral, toasty aroma. Decent honey and toasty malts, nicely floral and fresh grassy bitter finish. Light to medium bodied, refreshing. A good lager, better than any pilsner available locally, but a Bohemian Pilsner? mabel (2530), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Feb 11, 2007 [102-20061116] 341mL. Grainy, slightly skunky aroma. Pale yellow body with big bubbles around the edges and a foamy white head. Flavour is watery and metallic, light leafy, light grassy. Light body. OK togetherness but not great. JorisPPattyn (5155), Antwerpen, Belgium Dec 25, 2006 Golden-yellow beer; fast disappearing white head. Vanilla, freshly ground coffeebeans, going over in fresh, warm pilsnermalt, tad cookies. No hops discernible? At least, in the taste there are (quite) some hops overlying the straw-y, haylike malts. Actually, pretty bitter with some metallic tang. Pleasing, if somewhat aggressive flavours. I would’ve classified it under Classic German pilsner, rather than Bohemian, (despite the Saaz), but the difference is meagre. Again hay retronasal. Medium bodied, grist slickness. Nowhere bad, this "Ultra Premium" Pilsner. Txs, Stephen! StompBrockmore (300), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Dec 2, 2006 Updated: Dec 3, 2006341ml bottle - pours a clear golden colour with a smallish white head. Aroma of floral Saaz hops in the nose, along with grassy, citrusy notes. Flavour is very crisp, with a dry hop bite all the way through, with enough malt to keep things very smooth. Lots of flavour, and nice that it’s not afraid of the hop. There’s nothing mind blowing about this, or incredibly interesting, but it’s a very solid, refreshing pilsner that would be a perfect summer thirst quencher. Recommended for the style.
