RooftopRogue (423), Champaign, Illinois, USA Mar 11, 2006 This beer has a mild yeasty grape aroma. It is gold with a thin white head. This moderately dry beer has a stale sour nutty grape taste. Styles (1653), Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA Mar 3, 2006 Bottle courtesy of MrManning. Next my disclaimer, don’t really like pilsners, so even tougher to rate to style for me. Clear golden with ring of bubbles. Decent floral, somewhat bitng spiciness hop character in the aroma, slightest hint of skunk creeping in. Flavor doesn’t register on the palate, until half way through the sip. Very sweet to start, fades to a residuel sugar and the slightest skunkiness. Try to be fair, just this style does nothing for me. DerWeg (750), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 5, 2005 Updated: Nov 17, 2005Draught at Volo. Not bad if a bit generically American, with harsh grains & hops up front as opposed to a floral and delicate dance of hops and sweetness. Nothing offensive in it but any Czech import would improve on this for me. Épaisseur mince à semi mince, carbonatation piquante. iam (369), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Aug 12, 2005 Pours straw coloured with a thin head. Foral hop and light malt aroma. Grainy malt taste with a strong hop bitterness. Rastacouere (5552), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Jul 28, 2005 Clear very pale gold. Light white ring. perfumey nose, floral and spicy saaz hops. minty edges, limited maltiness. Slightly buttery in mouth, but it works thanks to a rather crisp, spicy bitterness. good balance, moderately high carbonation, light body. TimE (1300), Tokyo, Japan Jul 26, 2005 Medium yellow color, buttery, caramel, sour nose Sour, buttery, malty mouth. Off putting, but refreshig finish. Sucks. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA Jul 25, 2005 Sampled draught at the Winking Judge in Hamilton, ON with Olivier MTL, tiggmlt and Rastacoure...then three days later from 341 ml bottle. The draught sample had a pronounced lime character in the aroma, which is only lightly present in this bottle...pour with a decent fluffy head, quickly diminishing with no real lace, atop a light golden body....very bready nose, bit of sourdough but more rye, with light floral hops struggling to be smelled....body is nice and full, fairly bitter and tart to begin with but smoothing out quite a bit, lots of bready underlying malt, nicely crisp throughout, quite nicely carbonated. Draught would probably rate around 2.8-3; this review is for the bottle, which on the whole is very pleasing and surprising. Merci Stephen!
