Commercial Description:
Authentic European Style Pilsner 4.8% alc./vol. True to style in every regard, this authentic Czech-style Pilsner is truely unique in North America. The beer is brewed with an all imported Plisner malt, all Saaz hops and a true Czech yeast strain. The brewery uses only distilled water and remineralizes it to deliver an authentic taste every time. The bright golden pilsner is a full-bodied, refreshingly great tasting beer. It delivers a soft texture, complimented by the proper balance of malt and Saaz hops. Its flavour begins with a pleasing malty or bready taste but is sufficiently hopped to impart a dry bitter tang with a very clean finish. This is a very inviting beer that compliments many foods and has enough body to compliment even the heaviest of meals. This complex beer provides a more flavourful yet true to style option to some of the more popular imports. Consumers are quoted as saying "there is not a beer in Canada that tastes like King Pilsner", or "this beer tastes like the true Pilsners in Europe" King Pilsner is considered Ultra Premium because no expense is spared to produce this world-class beer. It is made with the best of ingredients, and most importantly the water is distilled and the mineral content adjusted to match the water table of the beers country of origin (in this case the Czech Republic). This provides a flavour profile that only the truest of Pilsners can match. These ingredients as well as King's proprietary process delivers one of the best tasting beers in the world!

Grassy, lightly spicy hops and grainy pils malt in the aroma. Clear pale golden colour with low white head that diminishes to partial cover with some lace. Grainy pils malt character with moderately crisp finishing bitterness. Medium-light body is somewhat slick but offset by lively carbonation. Lager glass, just above fridge temp. Bottle (RBSG’05 leftovers).

Bottle. Well either my tastes have changed or I previously had a bad batch or something cause I quite enjoyed this beer this time. Pours a clear bubbly gold with an average size diminishing creamy white head. Nice aroma, pretty dead on for the style. Sweet with Saaz hops. Flavour has a decent bitter finish. Nice hop and malt balance to the taste. Medium bodied. Pretty good, not sure what happened last time I tried it.

Draught at BarVolo. You’ve gotta be kidding, the average for this beer is 3.24?! WTF?! Here goes: Pours a light clear gold with an average white head. Nice carbonation, nice lacing, looks lively. So that’s a good start. Next the aroma: typical pilsner aroma of malt and yeast, no hops. At least it’s not skunky. Now the taste: Ugh! Just awful. Soap, corn, wheat, wet cardboard, malt and some hops in the aftertaste. Why is this rated so high? Did I get a bad batch? Not likely. I’ll be avoiding this one from now on.

Draught at Volo. Wan, pale yellow, weakly bubbly, like stepped-on ginger ale - small white head with gorgeous gingerbreaded lacing. Irritating aroma - wet cardboard, dead scorched grass, stale hops, and wet-dog yeast. Tasted of yeast, harsh stale grains & hops - mouthfeel was minerally, flat, finished long with a bad combination of barn floor, dry stone and metals. I’ll have to re-rate - it CAN’T be this bad.

Yellow. Light fizzy head. Rough hop aroma, slightly chemical. Strong dominant hop flavour and finish.

A very hoppy entrant in the Ontario pils market. I tried the tap at Smokeless Joe’s and enjoyed the golden brew; although, it was too bitter for my fiance!

Floral crisp golden bubbly beer with a bitterness that can’t be beat. A pretty decent boh and a great offering from another Ontario micro.

Poured a slightly clouded pale gold...fair white frothy cap..good lacing, medium carbonation...promising nose..musty sweet malt tones over a floral hop presense. Medium malt body ( probably a very nice blend of german light malts) that is over powered by the tart citrus/herbal bittering hops...leaves a clean finish with a lingering metal taste...this is a hop heads pilsner that is a domestic attempt at Pilsner Urquell...but the delivery is very malty.

Well I have a feeling that this might be better than I gave it credit for, and the taste of the previous bad beer was still in my mouth. It was very pale yellow with thin head and a bit of lacing. Definitely grassy aromas and a crisp meadow-ish flavour. The giveaway that it might be decent was that I finally got a nice bitter finish - I need to try this again.
