Ungstrup (14758), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 4, 2008 Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival 2007. A lightly hazy golden beer iwth a thin lazing beige head. The aroma is sweet with notes of straw and malt. The flavor is sweet mlaty with notes of straw, leading to a dry bitter finish with notes of hay lingering. omhper (12155), Stockholm, Sweden Sep 28, 2007 Updated: Dec 25, 2007Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival. Pale golden, brief head. Papery malt aroma. Dry and medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Lightly grassy. Finishes with medium bitterness. Not at all all a bad effort, but I’d like my pilseners more crisp and with less cardboard. oh6gdx (8802), Vasa, Finland Sep 29, 2007 Bottled@SBWF2007. Yellowish golden colour with small white head. A very cleanly made pils both to the aroma and flavour. Refreshing and easy to drink. Oakes (8058), gone rambling, Vietnam Oct 19, 2002 Amendment 10/02: Solid shot of hops - like most pilsners this doesn’t last very long but found ultra-fresh this is damn fine (upgrade from 3.3 to 3.6)
Original notes: Golden, flowery, honeyish, curranty aroma; crisp finish, good malt character.
fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Dec 1, 2007 Bottle at Stockholm Beer Festival 2007 Hazy light blond color. Light malt and hop aroma. Dry mouthfeel, well hopped. Not amazing but a notch above the average. Strong bitterness. TBone (6678), Pori, Finland Sep 30, 2007 Bottled@SBWF 2007
Golden color, off-white head, lace. Sticky hayish-fresh hoppy aroma. Grass hoppy flavor, some buttery notes. Grassy aftertaste. Decent imitation of Czech pils. Rastacouere (5551), Montréal, Quebec, Canada Jul 28, 2005 Clear very pale gold. Light white ring. perfumey nose, floral and spicy saaz hops. minty edges, limited maltiness. Slightly buttery in mouth, but it works thanks to a rather crisp, spicy bitterness. good balance, moderately high carbonation, light body. JorisPPattyn (5155), Antwerpen, Belgium Dec 25, 2006 Golden-yellow beer; fast disappearing white head. Vanilla, freshly ground coffeebeans, going over in fresh, warm pilsnermalt, tad cookies. No hops discernible? At least, in the taste there are (quite) some hops overlying the straw-y, haylike malts. Actually, pretty bitter with some metallic tang. Pleasing, if somewhat aggressive flavours. I would’ve classified it under Classic German pilsner, rather than Bohemian, (despite the Saaz), but the difference is meagre. Again hay retronasal. Medium bodied, grist slickness. Nowhere bad, this "Ultra Premium" Pilsner. Txs, Stephen!
