COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Authentic European Style Pilsner 4.8% alc./vol. True to style in every regard, this authentic Czech-style Pilsner is truely unique in North America. The beer is brewed with an all imported Plisner malt, all Saaz hops and a true Czech yeast strain. The brewery uses only distilled water and remineralizes it to deliver an authentic taste every time. The bright golden pilsner is a full-bodied, refreshingly great tasting beer. It delivers a soft texture, complimented by the proper balance of malt and Saaz hops. Its flavour begins with a pleasing malty or bready taste but is sufficiently hopped to impart a dry bitter tang with a very clean finish. This is a very inviting beer that compliments many foods and has enough body to compliment even the heaviest of meals. This complex beer provides a more flavourful yet true to style option to some of the more popular imports. Consumers are quoted as saying "there is not a beer in Canada that tastes like King Pilsner", or "this beer tastes like the true Pilsners in Europe" King Pilsner is considered Ultra Premium because no expense is spared to produce this world-class beer. It is made with the best of ingredients, and most importantly the water is distilled and the mineral content adjusted to match the water table of the beers country of origin (in this case the Czech Republic). This provides a flavour profile that only the truest of Pilsners can match. These ingredients as well as King's proprietary process delivers one of the best tasting beers in the world!

I tried this beer on July 22, 2008 at the "Beer Bistro" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer was translucent, gold in colour, and had a thin white head. The aroma was biscuity malt, with a small amount of hoppy floralness. The mouthfeel was crisp, medium bodied, with medium carbonation. The flavour was grainy malt, a little fruity sweetness, and a small hoppish finish.

Bottled@SBWF2007. Yellowish golden colour with small white head. A very cleanly made pils both to the aroma and flavour. Refreshing and easy to drink.

This beer has a mild yeasty grape aroma. It is gold with a thin white head. This moderately dry beer has a stale sour nutty grape taste.

[102-20061116] 341mL. Grainy, slightly skunky aroma. Pale yellow body with big bubbles around the edges and a foamy white head. Flavour is watery and metallic, light leafy, light grassy. Light body. OK togetherness but not great.

Pours with a quickly descending head and a orange/gold body. Aroma not too great some malts and grassy hops. Taste is pretty mediocre. Has some of the offensive tastes of a crappy pale lager. Otherwise there are grainy tastes.... a modicum of hops... and slight bitterness.

UPDATED: JAN 5, 2004 Tasted in Toronto at C'est what. Appearance is clear, carbonated and straw coloured. Large fluffy white head, dissapears quickly. Slightly sweet with a flowery hopped fragrance. No discernable bitterness in the scent. Flavour is fairly one dimensional - a slight bitterness, but came across somewhat watery and non impressive.

Well I have a feeling that this might be better than I gave it credit for, and the taste of the previous bad beer was still in my mouth. It was very pale yellow with thin head and a bit of lacing. Definitely grassy aromas and a crisp meadow-ish flavour. The giveaway that it might be decent was that I finally got a nice bitter finish - I need to try this again.

Bottle courtesy of MrManning. Next my disclaimer, don’t really like pilsners, so even tougher to rate to style for me. Clear golden with ring of bubbles. Decent floral, somewhat bitng spiciness hop character in the aroma, slightest hint of skunk creeping in. Flavor doesn’t register on the palate, until half way through the sip. Very sweet to start, fades to a residuel sugar and the slightest skunkiness. Try to be fair, just this style does nothing for me.

Pours a nice gold color, rocky white head. Aroma of pale malts and a bit of hops. Flavor was off though, buttery, not all that pleasant. I may have sat on it for too long. I have another bottle so I’ll rerate.
