diggle (4), USA does not count Aug 28, 2008 12 oz bottle. Falls short of the depth and complexity that a stout needs...something potentially wrong with this explosively fizzy beer...deliberate care must be taken not to fill your glass with foam. Head is somewhat acidic, almost citrusy, while the beer itself is flat chocolate and smoke w/ not much else. Murf_Dog (4), Waterford, Michigan, USA does not count Mar 21, 2008 On tap at the BrewPub
Pours a deep rich dark brown (almost black) with a light brown head. Roasted barley flavor with hints of molasses/caramel. Very smooth-drinking beer.
The batch on tap right now seems to be among the best of this variety from this brewer.
ryan (1707), Beltsville, Maryland, USA Aug 6, 2007 Dark brown/black body with a small tan head. The aroma is lots of coffee, dark chocolates and molasses. The flavor is coffee, milk chocolate, molasses, caramel and raisins. Medium/light body is soft with soft carbonation. Pretty good. I’ve been impressed with King lately. kmweaver (2120), Takoma Park, Maryland, USA Jul 9, 2007 12oz bottle, courtesy of artusory. Thanks, Ryan! Pours a murky, dark-brown color; light-tan head with patchy lacing. Dense, milk chocolate and floral aroma; generous and sweet, with a bit of roasted malt. Medium mouthfeel: roasted malts and milk chocolate, in a velvety, lightly carbonated backdrop; slightly watery, but very drinkable and well-roasted. Medium, milk chocolate and roasted finish, with a hint of spice. jasonp (1443), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA Jul 8, 2007 Bottle, courtesy of artusory. Pours brown with ruby edges and a beige head. Very very nice roasty, mocha nose. Medium strength, quaffable brew. A good mix of raosted malt, chocolate, a hint of coffee and light caramel. Medium to light bodied with moderate carbonation. Nice beer.
