341 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a clear orange with tiny white head. Aroma is toasty cereal grains with a hint of caramel and fruit. Flavour same toasty cereal grains with more caramel and fruity sweetness. Slightly syrupy mouthfeel. Decent, but a cut below their Pilsner and Dark.

Pours a golden clear with a thin white top and good lacing. Aroma is mostly malt and light hop. Taste is a good malt but overall fairly boring.

Pours an amber colour with an off-white head that stays a while and gives out a little lace. Perfumy nose with some caramel malts and light roasted one. Nice sweetness in the taste, but not overly, well-balanced with some fruity and caramel malts, very mild hops and hints of grain and vanilla. I really enjoyed this one a few months back (purchased in a 6-pack), but not sure about the one I am having tonight (from the discovery pack). Maybe it is what I ate, but I know I would get some more of this. A good vienna.

On tap at Beer Bistro.
Appearance : Clear amber with medium foamy white head.
Aroma : Nice malt with light citrusy hops. Nice fruity notes.
Taste : Nice fruits with nice malt and light citrusy hops. Finish malty and citrusy with light fruits.
Overall : Nothing fancy but malt is quite nice. Chewy and bready. Hops are also nice. I don’t really get why the ratings are so low... I guess I love this style. Really drinkable and refreshing. Quaffable!

Draft sample. Dark gold with medium carbonation. Aromas are of toasted malts and nuts. A bit malty sweet in the mouth, but gets nutty on the back end. A touch of herbal hop on the finish. Clean finishing. Basic, but not too bad.

as usual King makes a nice version, nothing bad about it, but nothing really stands out. amberish color some foam dissapears quick. nose is grassy and somewhat sweet. flavor is similar. also found the mouthfeel a tad thin.

341 mL bottle. Copper-orange with a very small, filmy, off-white head. There is a hint of the expected maltiness in the nose, but there is also an almost alcoholic sharpness, and a very slight, vegetal, off-note. The flavour is better: mostly bready malt, and a touch of fruit. Perhaps a touch on the sweet side. Almost feels like an ale.

UPDATED: AUG 22, 2010 Fresh bottle from brewery: Decants as a clear deep amber with orange highlights. Creamy 3 finger cap that laces well. Well carbonated. Nose is rich in toasty-bready Vienna malts, little detectable sweetness, some earthy-woody noble hop tones ,nice fresh aroma and true to style. Medium bodied smooth mouth feel clean malty character. Taste profile is on style as well...bready-toasty wiith very light sweeness in front, hops sit back, mid palate the noble hops give off heir earthy woody bittering as the clean finish dries right out and provides a small hop bite in the end. A very good (true to style) rendition of the Vienna style, the first we have in the Ontario market at least. With a few minor tweeks this would be on par with Great Lakes Eliot Ness. Satisfying, quenching yet flavorful with a decent malt discernment and hop bite....this is a keeper. Hope it’’s not just a one off.
