only good for quenching the mouthful of over chilli’d curry you’ve just eaten after a night out with the boys. no aroma, flavour of crushed corn and a little skunk. blerugh

Aroma of grass, corn, very light apple and some skunk. Appearance is tinted gold with patchy white head. Flavor was somewhat toasty (oddly enough) and sweet with a tongue coating dose of grass and skunk. Palate was bubbly and a little chewy. Strange and unpleasant stuff; I didn’t get but about 1/3 of the bottle down.

This is a simple, good clean lager. No off flavours or quality issues, the Australian version is brewed under licence by independent distillers. Clean, crisp hop bitterness with a clean malt balance. When down very easily after work on a hot summer day.

0,66l bottle. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma of sweet malt. Sweet somewhat malty taste with some bitterness. Medium carbonation. Light and refreshing and went well with the spicy Indian food we had. Would be boring alone, but not bad.

A nice beer to gulp down with spicy Indian Food. Fairly Bland and flavorless otherwise.

Bottle - pours bright yellow with a thick head that dissipates quickly. A very basic lager that is dry with a taste of straw and a crisp mouthfeel. I didn’t eat spicy food with this beer but I can definitely see that.

Bottle. Well known as a curry house beer, drunk only when quenching the fire from a particularly spicy jalfrezi. For that it generally does the job pretty well. Aroma and head are both noteable by their absence and the appearance is a pale, clear yellow and rather flat; however it does have a cleaner, crisper taste than many of the other common, commercial pale lagers which rescue it from being totally drab. Not awful.

330ml bottle, brewed at Shepherd Neame, UK. Pale straw, white head. Surprisingly malty aromas, some hops, a bit of citrus, faint cardboard. Dry, light bodied, light to medium bitterness, balanced CO2. Malty taste, some citrusy hop notes, lightly spicy. Ends on a somewhat burnt, waxy note. (2012-01-03)
