650 ml bottles. I must assume that this is what I was drinking over there. Not much of a selection in India. The bottles I drank were clearly marked “For sale in Punjab Only.” Interesting. Yellow onion color, good carbonation and a light head. Lightly sweet aroma (corn or some adjunct likely) with a bit of hop presence. All and all I thought this was a fairly clean brew with a decent hop presence for a lager. A bit of spice and earth. There is a bit of adjunct undertone but the hops are in enough proportion to cover that up. Semi-dry finish. If you want a beer in India, this may be your only selection.

330ml bottle.
Pours a clear golden yellow. Medium white bubbly head that disappears quickly. Smells very grassy and skunky. Flavour is quite skunky as well. A little bit earthy and some hops in the background as well. More flavourfull and fuller body than most pale lagers I’ve had. Finishes with a bit of hops. Smooth and nicely carbonated. Easy drinking beer but nothing too special.

UPDATED: MAR 14, 2008 This is often available at Indian restaurants as well as in the store. From the bottle, it is deep gold, with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. The aroma is pretty standard in character but rather strong for the style (compared to, say Buweiser, Coors, etc.), being grain with a sweet fruity quality and a hint of sulphur. The taste is similar, fruity with malty grain and some bitterness. Again, it is pretty standard in style but the taste is stronger, richer, and a tad more hoppy and bitter than many mass-produced versions of the style, especially compared to Coors, etc. It is also somewhat heavier and not as "crisp." In the end, it’s nothing special but it is good, pleasant, drinkable, and has stronger flavour and bitterness than most macro-lagers.

Found it randomly and wouldn’t look for it again. Not anything special definately a very plain beer. Fizzy and not much taste but yet somehow bitter at the end.

Pours pale golden with no head, not a lot of flavor, pretty fizzy, not bad, but not great.

Clear shining yellow. Drank this in an excellent vegetarian Indian restaurant of Edinburgh (Ann Purna). A relatively clean and inoffensive beer with moderate sweetness, grainy flavour profile and minimal grassy hops. Its main feature is its solid carbonation that manages to swipe off the tongue the spices and maintain a healthy white foam. Otherwise, generic, but drinkable.

Beer remains a safe Indian beverage that won’t give you Hepatitis. So pop open a bottle of Kingfisher instead of water, because the latter might be refilled from the tap. Actually among the Indian macrobrews, this is one of the better ones...the Brits left a strong legacy with the Raj: good railroads. Why couldn’t they have left--oh I dunno--IPA???

I guess I didn’t hate it as much as others did. From the bottle, in a mug, with some chicken tikka masala at an Indian restaurant. Thin mouthfeel, a fruity, not unpleasant aroma, and light pale lager taste. There was some almost overly sweet flavor at times, almost like corn juice.
