0.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
UPDATED: DEC 20, 2014 Out of a bottle at the Bar in JOnes. The bottle’s wrapper looked quite different than the can shown here and it also said on the back that the ABV was at least 3.2% but did not exceed 5.5%--the Kingfisher is apparently not a fan of specificity. Pungent like cheap wine but tastes much worse and yet a couple dozen Indians were drinking it without making faces. The worst beer I’ve ever had. Couldn’t finish more than 4 or 5 oz’s so no buzz for me that night. Apparently, this is a popular beer in India, too. (Edit: I’m thinking what I tried was different than what’s shown because what I tried was not bland at all but rather completely objectionable and nye-on-puke-inducing, so take my review FWIW.)

A great beer. Cant believe the low rankings. Say they have the finest malts and hops and I agree. Seemed like almost an IPA. The aroma and flavor are just packed full of excellent hops. I really recommend.

Bottle. Head was small frothy white and was quickly goon. Slight lacing in glass. Body was clear light sparkling and color was pale yellow. Aroma was light hay, straw, cardboard, and some hops. Light bodied with a very thin texture and an average carbonation. Light fresh finish. Nothing special.

0.8 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 2/20
Completly metallic aroma, no head and next to no flavor except that of rusty pipes. Some bitterness in the finish, but most of all a beer you just wanna get over with

Light yellow beer with an fast disappearing head. It has only a faint aroma of hops. Slightly sweet and mild flavour. Finish watery and thin.

Sweet, mellow and wheaty. A dash of citrussy lemon and aloe vera soapiness. Very pleasant accompaniment to a murgh bhoona karahi. But otherwise probably best left alone.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cold 12oz bottle at India Palace: Pours a clear medium golden color with minimal alabaster bubbles, mostly around edges. Lightly sweet rich malts and grassy hops. Crisp, light bodied and well carbonated. Ending is reminiscent of bread. Quite rich for a lager. Excellent with foodstuffs, particular Indian Cuisine.

1.5 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20
very strong grass aroma (with a hint of hop). This carries through to the taste with the hops providing a bitter aftertaste. Overall not very pleasing.

12oz at Raj Mahal; Went really well with the food. No head, no real color, smelled like a PBR. Fizzy glass of nothing.

12 oz bottle via Cost Plus World Market. Not much in the nose, some staleness and grains, and pepper. Pours a crystal clear gold with a small white head. Almost no taste at all. Some yeast, barley. Thin body. Watery. Down the drain.
