2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 11/20
650 mL bottle. Pale gold color, with a big, frothy, white head. Big aroma of corn, spicy hops, resin, and a little sour milk. Mild sweetness, and very spicy and bitter. Light body, high carbonation, astringent, and harsh. Overall, this is a relatively hop forward pale lager, but it results in an unpleasant aroma and terrible mouthfeel.

2.1 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle at a local Indian restaurant. Pours clear golden colour with a small white head. Malty/bready aroma. Hoppiness in the taste, a little watery. Refreshing, but just another average beer from this region.

1.8 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Kingfisher is the epitome of Indian beer. It is quite simply the most famous Indian beer at all, and is comparable to what a Carlsberg is to Denmark. It is a typical industrial pilsner, which is produced in large quantities every day of the year. It tastes are also evident, for it is a usual lagers without large fluctuations in character, aroma and taste. It is brewed to please the general beer drinker, that is, in a way which as many people worldwide will be able to drink it without wrinkling his nose. Retail malt flavor with a moderate hoppy bitterness towards the end. Thirst extinguishing, easy to drink and very anonymous.

Pours a clear light golden color with white head. Cereal grains on the nose, not much else; follows onto the palate. Light bodied. Finishes with cereal grains. Simple lager.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Well sampled this with some delicious authentic Indian cuisine, I suppose this beer has as much a right as any to claim to be the authentic beer of India, so pairs well in that sense. Then again, really nothing distinctive about this macro lager, although was not inoffensive and seemed very fresh and clean tasting, no pungent cardboard malts or stale hops here. Just standard sweet pale malt, more floral than grassy hop accents, light bodied but not watery. Very yellow golden color and fizzy. Nothing "Indian" about it as you can imagine, but I'd take it over Heineken any day.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle at Clay Oven Indian restaurant in Frederick, MD. Poured into a lager glass, clear pale golden color with white head. Aroma notes of pale malt sweetness and faint grain. Taste adds very faint grass/earthy bitterness. Light body, moderate-heavy carbonation, crisp with clean finish. Did this one for the country add, not very memorable at all.
