Kingfisher Premium Lager has a thin, white head and a somewhat hazy, golden appearance with lots of little streaming bubbles. The pleasant aroma is lightly toasted and very bready. Taste is surprisingly hop forward, with lots of bitter hops up front, then breadiness across the sip along with the hops. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Kingfisher finishes crisp, clean, and dry, yet, not as dry as American adjunct lagers. Overall, this is a delicious beer, and I strongly recommend giving it a taste. RJT

Again, gre up drinking this beer. So slightly biased - pale yellow color. Decent white head that lasts. Watery end.

A fully matured beer with an exceptional clarity, and has a pleasantly bitter taste.

Memories is brought to my mind and I have to give this beer some credit for the best travels in my life. Indeed this beer is just mainstream, but as with many objects in India, you’ll like it later on anyway. It’s the beer to be sampled at indian restaurents if they have no IPAs.

Good beer. Slightly skunky, especially in the smell. I plan on buying more of this. I like the logo as well.

Wow! Was I impressed with this stuff.... It’s like a malted milk ball that tastes like beer, stiff foam, big malty taste (Did I say malty) and originally made in.... India? Apparently this is one of those ’under the authority of... blah-blah-blah’ deals so it’s actually made in Saratoga Springs, NY, or at least the American stuff is...
For some reason this seems like the stuff drunk a century ago, I can see guys raising glasses of it and doing the whole ’drinking song’ thing.
Made me belch a lot... malty belches!

UPDATED: MAY 23, 2007 From reading other peoples’ descriptions I find it hard to believe I was consuming the same beer, although I saw it come out of the bottle. This one was certainly a lot better than I was expecting of a "best-seller" (usually that’s a codename for bland). This beer struck me as comparable to many of the German pilseners, and very similar: rich and complex grain taste. Very bitter and hoppy--good hop flavour. Generally flavourful and complex. Not heavy and not sweet. Almost too yeasty. From taste alone I would not have guessed this to be a mass-produced beer.

Bottle at home in London with Lyoli. Pours clear, dim yellow with a frothy, white head. Cereal, hay and just hints of fresh cardboard in the nose. Light to medium sweet flavor, some cereal, faint lemony tang, some dough, hay, light metal and grass. Light bodied with fine, fizzy carbonation. Crisp, light sweet finish, a bit of dry metal and hay bitterness, modest cereal and toasty dough. A very solid pale lager overall. Good stuff.

Definitely much more than I expected from an Indian beer, never heard of it but it’s not bad...
