2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
650 ml bottle at several location in India. Clear golden body with a white head. Light grainy aroma. Flavor is rather week, mild malty, grainy and not much bitterness. The first sips feels quite refreshing when served ice cold together with spicy food a warm day, but turns out rather boring and one dimensional before you hit the bottom of the bottle. Thin body and short aftertaste. I imagine that the Shepard Neame version is slightly more interesting with a hint of floral/grassy hops bit it’s difficult to tell with no parallel testing.

33 cl bottle (4,8%) @ Samrat, Helsinki. BBE 30.04.2015
Aroma has butter, starch and corn. Flavour has cardboard, starch, hints of butter and grainy malt. Too much cardboard tones, as bad as Finnish bulk lagers.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
I had this bottle poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a clear light yellow color with a super light carbonation rising few and far to a softly dissipating white foamy head.
The smell had some light sweet fruity notes over top of some light sweet malts.
The taste was mainly sweet and adding in a bit of sweetened corn in the flavoring. There was a quick dry finish.
On the palate, this one sat pretty light and had a pretty good sessionability about it. Concerning how the carbonation felt, well, honestly as a premium lager, there’s nothing bad to say about but nothing spectacular about it either.
Overall, this is your standard premium lager that doesn’t show anything bad about it nor does it show anything to be a standout.
