micker (31), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Aug 4, 2006 A very refreshing pleasent summer beer. Very mild in taste dispute being 6% in alcohol. Has a slight hop betterness, with a slightly sour taste. Aftertaste is somewhat wooden, likely from the cask. A nice beer... to bad the rest of the beers don’t match up, the White Tail is worse than vitually any macros swill AWS9 (222), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada Oct 24, 2009 On tap at the brewpub. Dark brown with decent beige head. Pleasant nut and malt aroma. Nutty malt, with some spice and a mild, tangy bitterness. Enjoyable stuff! tupalev (2605), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Dec 31, 2005 On cask, at the brewpub. My hometown is 45 minutes away from here, and I am there often, and I just got out to this place this past week. Go figure. Anyway, the pub itself was fantastic, the food was good and the beer was solid for the most part. This was my first pint and I have to say it is far better than the numbers here would suggest. Very dark brown, with a creamy (sparkler?) off white head - looks great. Some malt and slight hops in subtle aroma. Creamy mouthfeel borders on thick. Nice traditional cask Bitter taste - malt, lots of fruit notes and some complimenting hops. The fruity finish is probably more flavourful than the first half. A pint of this compares very favourably to the best Ontario cask pints like those found at the granite or Durham. Nothing spectacular to get the numbers way up, but if lived in Kingston, this would be my cask ale session pint. Kudus to the BrewPub for this fine offering. jbrus (4835), Delft, Netherlands Oct 11, 2001 A bit sweet, nice hops, a bit spicy. GregClow (2493), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Feb 12, 2008 Cask at the brewpub. Deep amber with a creamy head that sticks around for the duration. Caramel and earthy hops on the nose. Soft mouthfeel. Flavour is nice and subtle, a bit nutty, will mellow hops in the finish. Not spectacular, but a decent quaff. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 18, 2005 cask. hazy copper brown colour with a rich creamy head. floral hop aroma - mild soapiness. sweet creamy body with a mild bitterness. I enjoyed it. DerWeg (750), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Nov 12, 2005 Updated: Dec 29, 2006Cask. Deep clear reddish brown with nice ring of head. Extremely fresh and tasty with nice texture. Flavor much stronger than aroma - a big, delicate middle of malt suggesting fruit, perhaps dark ripe cherries. Not offendingly earthy for me. Will drink again. Oakes (8058), gone rambling, Vietnam Apr 4, 2003 Bright burnished amber; thin, creamy head. Light grassy, mossy character. Buttery body with a hint of acidity. Dryish, vaguel malty finish.
