2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20 MiP (11783) - Sønderborg, - AUG 29, 2010
Draught at the brewpub. Mild fruity aroma. Very dark colour, almost black. Very small tan head. The flavour is quite fruity and slightly roasted. Much too fruity for the style.

Tap at the brewery. Not bad. Aroma has hints of coffee, and also some chocolate. Taste is sweet, with average length. Palate is oily, with a thin-to-medium body. Black, with a frothy head.

On tap at the brewpub. Black poor, with a nice faint brown head. Sharp carbonation. Nice roasted malt, with a bit of hop balancing. Mild chocolate undertone. Smooth finish. Pretty standard, not bad.

The least flavorful dunkel i have ever had. Looked great, dark brown with a nice fluffy head. Aroma of..........well...........not much. Some light sweet malts, and some metal. Flavor was watery, and was just a tinge of sweet malt. Pretty disapointing.

On tap at the brewpub. Deep clear mahogany, small brown head. Fruity aroma with hints of caramel, not terribly different from the Dragon’s Breath Real Ale to be honest, even though there clearly is dark malt used in the recipe. Sweet palate, again mostly fruity caramel with perhaps hints of dusty chocolate. Disappointing.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Lubiere (7003) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 4, 2009
A deep dark brown dunkel with a thin moka head. A pleasant sweet brown sugar aroma with light treacle and fruity esters. In mouth, a sweet fruity dunkel with light molasses, some chocolate notes, a bit lighter than expected but very decent. On tap at brewpub Oct. 3 2009.

(Rating #2509)
2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 Rastacouere (5923) - Montréal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 21, 2008
Objectively speaking:
An overly yeasty coke-coloured lager that could use extra cleanliness.
I like:
Not unlike Austrian Dunekl, this takes the sweetish fruity (grape and plums) road.
I dislike:
Minimal toast character that instead heads toward wet bread territory, leaving behind a loose texture, both highly thin and rather rooty, soapy even. A more than noticeable tartness detracts in the finish. A fruity and sweet example that is certainly no show-stopper with its couple of small faults and general lack of substance.

2008-06-23. Very dark brown body is near black in the dim light of the bar, tiny khaki head. (3+) Sweetish flavour of malt, light tart fruity notes remind of raspberries - I suspect either poorly cleaned lines or my imagination running wild. Peasant light bitterness throughout seems separate from the rest somehow, light tangy note to the finish, but pleasantly so, not in the usual way I mean when I say tangy. (6+) Mild aroma of malt, light house character to the yeasty notes, light notes of cereals and grains. (6+) Average palate. Decent, quaffable. On tap at the brewpub
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 MrManning (1945) - London, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 5, 2008
Deep auburn pour with a one finger froth of mocha foam. Slightly toasty, nutty nose with a touch of roasted coffee and wood. Taste is watery roasty malts and burnt sugars with caramel and a light does of bittering hops towards the finish. A bit thin in the end, but not offensive and quite drinkable if nothing else.
