3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 davidm (1370) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - DEC 12, 2010
Tap at the brewery. Not bad. Aroma has hints of coffee, and also some chocolate. Taste is sweet, with average length. Palate is oily, with a thin-to-medium body. Black, with a frothy head.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 tupalev (2730) - Waterloo, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 2, 2006
On tap, at the brewpub. Very dark brown, small white head. Sticky sweet malt aroma, some cola. Thin body. Nice sweet dark malt taste, a little bit of molasses, hints of sugar. Some bitterness in finish. Even what I am beginning to identify as this brewpub’s yeast - there is a bit of a common element to some of the beers (in a good way). Refreshing and on style, I enjoyed this straightforward brew - a perfect stop on the way from Toronto to Montreal!
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Lubiere (7003) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 4, 2009
A deep dark brown dunkel with a thin moka head. A pleasant sweet brown sugar aroma with light treacle and fruity esters. In mouth, a sweet fruity dunkel with light molasses, some chocolate notes, a bit lighter than expected but very decent. On tap at brewpub Oct. 3 2009.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 jerc (5591) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 8, 2008
2008-06-23. Very dark brown body is near black in the dim light of the bar, tiny khaki head. (3+) Sweetish flavour of malt, light tart fruity notes remind of raspberries - I suspect either poorly cleaned lines or my imagination running wild. Peasant light bitterness throughout seems separate from the rest somehow, light tangy note to the finish, but pleasantly so, not in the usual way I mean when I say tangy. (6+) Mild aroma of malt, light house character to the yeasty notes, light notes of cereals and grains. (6+) Average palate. Decent, quaffable. On tap at the brewpub
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 AWS9 (354) - Mississauga, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 24, 2010
On tap at the brewpub. Black poor, with a nice faint brown head. Sharp carbonation. Nice roasted malt, with a bit of hop balancing. Mild chocolate undertone. Smooth finish. Pretty standard, not bad.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 MrManning (1945) - London, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 5, 2008
Deep auburn pour with a one finger froth of mocha foam. Slightly toasty, nutty nose with a touch of roasted coffee and wood. Taste is watery roasty malts and burnt sugars with caramel and a light does of bittering hops towards the finish. A bit thin in the end, but not offensive and quite drinkable if nothing else.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 HogTownHarry (4873) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - FEB 21, 2008
Draught. At the brewpub. Deep clear ruby-black with a small tan head. Nice mild roast/fruity malt combination, dry and lightly bitter - still that extract character, but it’s not obnoxious. The taste was incredibly mild, not much taste at all, really - vague, sort of burnt roastiness, kind of bitter - nothing to really hook into, really. Watery and still on the tongue with a very quick finish, but no aftertaste, just a whisper of extract tang - drinkable.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Cartoonkhaki (1177) - Brantford, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 29, 2008
Ruddy red/gold/black with a small tan head. The aroma has hints of roasted malts and a tiny hint of grass and dust. The aroma seemed more characterful then the actual flavour though. The flavour hits you quite mildly only to leave you a bit mildly disappointed after having enjoyed the aroma. The malts were slightly roasted in the flavour and the bitterness was small the palate was slightly watery.

(Cask Conditioned) Pours a thin, creamy beige head and a deep mahogany body. Nose of bubblegum and sweet malt. Tart flavour - somewhat astringent. Average.
