COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Figgie Pud'n is (and always will be!) available for the Christmas holiday period, usually coming on-tap on the Friday before the Christmas week. It seems to get more popular every year, & since we can only produce a limited amount, it sells out very quickly!

Pint ’first one one the house today’ - Xmas Eve day. Dense dark brown color with tan cap. Aroma is sweet toffee and orange. Great big flavors of orange and lemon rind, almost vibrantly citrusy, plus very rich taste of fruit and nutty toffee malts. Some very good dark dry fruits like fig and Thomson raisin, and lovely sweet rooty spice than never becomes peppery or herbal or dry. A generous beer, surprisingly full rich and powerful, pretty amazing winter ale. Loved the whole pint, it never overwhelms with its evident sweetness.

On tap, at the brewpub. Dark syrupy brown, no head. Aroma of fig, cinnamon, and black licorice. Tastes like Christmas fruitcake! Lots of fruit taste to go with all of the Christmas spices. Something along the lines of the Anchor Our Special Ales, but more fruity and less spicy. Medium mouthfeel that is not near as syrupy as the appearance suggests. Nice hops in the finish. A wonderfully unique concoction that might be a little too much to drink a lot of, but as an after dinner Christmas sipper, it is good. Surprised to see that the alcohol is is listed at 7%, it didn’t taste like it at all.

Draft, Dec 2000. Pours dark with a decent head. A thick sweet beer, it is malty and sweet in both the aroma and flavour. My favourite of their offerings.
