UPDATED: JAN 5, 2007 Can. Very little aroma. Pale golden with white tead. Light beer with a short, un-bitter aftertaste. Like a Danish discount-beer. Thx to KØLF. (050923)

Medium white head. Clear deep golden body with carbonation. Light grainy vegetal aroma. Dry-sweet perfumy grainy taste with sugary notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel with some heat. Dryish perfumy sugary aftertaste with floral notes. It’s not bad, but too sweet. I imagine I can taste the alcohol, too. (0.64l bottle, Taste, Hang Hao, Hong Kong.)

Being a fan of all beers terrible and foreign, I was heartened to see this green bottled beauty in the make-your-own six-pack section of my local beer selling establishment. I have long been a fan of unpalatable Eastern European beers and am excited to be branching out into Asia and more specifically China in this case. This pours a nice and perfectly clear golden color with a thick and relatively long lasting head of fine bubbles. Looks really nice to a lager fan like myself actually. The nose tells a different story. It is actually not skunked--perhaps the use the same genetically modified hop varieties as Miller--just kind of stale and vaguely sour-doughy. Watery but fizzy on the palate w/ essences of sweet rolls and an odd kind of lemony tartness w/ underpinnings of a gun-powder-like bitterness and earth. This beer is a little off, there can be no doubt, even when compared to the worst (regular-strength) packaged beers in the US but it is not actively foul or hideous in any way. I could see myself wiling away some free time on the slow boat to China w/ a six pack of this in my lap.

Oh my, another Chinese brewing company making beers a half percent different from each other and pretending they’re different brews..... so this pours with that usual awful rice-brewed head and that boring yellow body. The aroma is all rotting cardboard. The flavour is all rice, adding an extra point for the smooth mouthfeel but otherwise a total waste of an attempt at brewing a lager that might even be so slightly different from all the others.

Poured from a large bottle purchased in Cambodia into a short glass to drink. The beer had a clear, light gold color with a small foamy white head that quickly dissipated and had little cling. It had a sour straw and barley aroma with a bit of yeast. The taste was somewhat sour and bitter with a bit of straw and grain. It had a thin, light body with a light mouthfeel and very little carbonation.

Golden color. Weak aroma of some grains. Light bodied. Some malty flavors along with some rice or something. Not very good.

(12oz bottle thanks to ericandersnavy) clear pale yellow, ring of white bubbles. Nose is bready, sweet cereal grain, apple and butter. Taste is very sweet, papery, bready, and gold raisins. Nearly uncarbonated too. Not good.

From the green bottle. Pale yellow pour with a thick fluffy head. Lifeless adjunct aroma. Sweet corn taste with not much else going on. Keep moving, nothing to see here.

12oz. green bottle. $1.50 single at Binny’s. Yes drinking a cheap Chinese lager so as not to distract from my job at hand. But you can’t argue with a holographic label. Big corn smell poured into my glass. At least not the strong malt liquor burn of other cheap beers. Pale yellow in glass, lots of bubbles to a rocky head. Taste is pretty sugary and grainy. Like a bowl of Dog Chow left in the rain. Okay, I can still drink it.

..... I was using dead presidents as a cover. You didn’t get that?

He said he wanted many, many thousands of green people from history times!
