Dark red, no head. Nose has intense malt, citrus, caramel. Velvety fruitness in the mouth, pronounced bitterness, tangerines, coffee, caramel. According to Kinn this is very suited for storage. I would agree; it is very good, but not that integrated yet. Like a young powerful red wine. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

24.10.2014. 0,75l Bottle. Vinmonopolet Haugesund. Dark brown colour with white head. Dark malts with lots of malt sweetness. Very rich malty aromas. Strong with very well hidden alcohol. Sweet. This beer has very little carbonation. Wine is what comes to mind with a oily texture and rich sweet body. Moderate soft bitterness with very gentle hopping. Very nice beer!

750 ml bottle. Brown and clear. No carbonation to speak of. No head either. Ashy and peppery oily malty aroma. Nutty and hoppy flavours. Salty. Flat. Soy sauce comes to mind. Hoppy and bitter finish. Spiciness like black pepper in the finish. Did not like this one much unfortunately.

Bottle 750ml.

[ As Kinn Ivar Aasen-øl ].
Clear medium red amber color with a small, open and fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, sweet malt, sugary malt, alcohol. Flavour is heavy sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration, riped fruit, alcohol, caramel, dark fruit. Body is medium, texture is oily and sticky, carbonation is flat, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20140517]

Hazy medium amber body with no head, this one looks more or less still. Sweet and quite strong aroma of sweet caramel, dark dried fruits, brown sugar, liquorice and alcohol. Strong flavour of raisins and other variants of dried fruits, caramel, liquorice and alcohol in a vinous sherry-like way, with some faint notes of pine in the back. The taste is moderate plus sweet and the long-lasting finish is moderate bitter. Full-bodied, oily to syrupy texture. A mild and gentle US barley wine or a heavy hoppy UK one, I’m not sure. I think I’ll go for mild US.

Bottle: Dark red colour, with almost no head at all: Aroma is dominated of sweet maltynes, fruity, grassy, hay, alcy. Flavor had a lots of malts, caramelly, toffee, citrus and fruity, mixed with alcy mouth feeling. Big body medium fruity bitter finish..

750ml bottle. Courtesy of Finn. Thanks! Dark brown-reddish hazy body. No head or lacing. Roses, dark fruit, mead, barley, cherry and sweet plum aroma. Plum, wine, raisin, rum. Alcohol is perceptible. Reminds me of Finnish strong beer. Astringent finish. Too sweet and too much alcohol.(Sampled 18.06.14@Rating Session)
