On tap at Nærbø Ølfestival 2013. It’s a lightly unclear one, dark golden in color and with a small, dense, off-white to beige head. The aroma is quite syrupy, with peaches, some alcohol and a generic fruityness. Bitter, fruity flavor with peaches, pine cones and alcohol. Not much warmth considering the alcohol, full body. Lasting finish. A beer that would do good from some ageing I guess. 131019

750ml bottle, batch 529, shared by Finn. Tiny, bubbly, brownish head. Dark brown-orange coloured body, cloudy. Sweet jam-like aroma. Mingled taste character of almond, honey, caramel and sweet marmalade. Medium to full bodied. Okay sipper and fine for sharing. Sweet and heavy on the swallow (Tromsø 18.06.2014).

larsga (6206) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 6, 2014
Thin beige head. Hazy deep dark red body. Earthy spicy caramel aroma with linoleum and butterscotch and rye crisp bread notes. Sweet-dryish earthy spicy rye crisp bread taste, kind of dense, with alcoholic linoleum notes. Full-bodied. Mild, slightly hot mouthfeel. Dryish spicy alcoholic fruity aftertaste with rye crisp bread and cardamom notes. Kind of nice, but a bit dense and sweet. (0.75l bottle, wine monopoly web order.)

UPDATED: OCT 13, 2013 Rerate, labelled 750 ml bottle, batch #400, as Kinn Ivar Aasen-øl Bygg-vin. ABV is 10.5%. Available at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Murky brown colour (the bottle had been stored on the side in my fridge), moderate but lasting cream-coloured head. Aroma and flavour basically as upon first sample, but the oaky notes are even more pronounced now. Original rating: 750 ml unlabelled bottle (the crate was labelled), at Mandag i Annen, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. The pub got the beer directly from the brewery, but so far not in a quantity sufficient for normal sale. Hazy dark reddish brown colour, moderate off-white head. Aroma and flavour of malts, caramel and dark dried fruits (incl. raisins), hints of oak, mild spices and fortified wine.
