3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Palme (2252) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAY 7, 2013
On tap @ Grunerløkka Bryggens. This is a deep dark brown one - near black in color with a small spotty brown top. Not extreme on the aroma but I get a dark malty sweetness, soft roasted malts and a trace of coffee and chocolate paper. It has a mild oily mouthfeel and a soft to average carbonation level. The first thing I notice is how light drinkable this is. Feels really balanced with a nice hoppy flavor all the way. Not to roasted, but it’s noticeable. Don’t know what more I can say really. A scary light drinkable one, and it’s really good as well! 02.03.2013
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 _angst_ (1745) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - OCT 31, 2012
Sample @ SMÖF 2012. Pours hazy very dark brown, almost black, with a small brownish beige head that is rather quick to dissipate while leaving lots of trace on the glass. Smell is tiny sweet and slightly salty with roasted malts, ammonium chloride, grapefruit juice, freshly cut grass, pine, orange peal, dried apricots and dark roast coffee. Taste is bitter and tiny salty with grapefruit juice, salty liquorice candy, burnt wood, pine, freshly cut grass, dark roast coffee, orange peal, lemon zest, roasted malts and dark bread. Mouthfeel is round, tiny astringent and medium bodied. Finish is bitter with grapefruit rinds, salty liquoriuce candy, orange peal, grass, pine, dark bread and roasted malts. Nice, especially considering the saltiness...

On tap at HaandFestival 2012. Looking gorgeous this one, with its black body, and dense, finger-thick off-white to beige head. It’s lightly roasted on the nose, there’s a touch of licorice, and a pleasant hoppyness, citrus peel and pine cones. The flavor has a nice bitterness to deal with the roasted malts, and there’s citrus peel, pine cones and some faint licorice as well. Dry, full-bodied and pleasantly carbonated, finishing roasted and bitter. A tasteful, balanced, dry and really pleasant beer. 120504
