On tap at Naboen, Bergen. Pours hazy amber with a small white head. Aroma of caramel malts, light fruity hops. Taste is light bitter and resiny hops, light burned caramel, solid malty body. Ends rather quick. Not my favourite from Kinn.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Foffern (285) - Bergen, NORWAY - FEB 26, 2012
On tap at Naboen. Has a amber colour and is slightly hazy. Typical british bitter aroma with sweet malt of caramel and grains. This is also present in flavours but with a more distinct touch of grassy hops, and surprisingly more bitterness than a regular bitter. A typical slick mouthfeel. A real good interpretation of the bitter-style.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 larsga (4684) - Oslo, NORWAY - FEB 24, 2012
Smallish offwhite creamy head. Hazy amber body. Mealy herbal earthy aroma with strawy notes, a bit faint. Dry-sweet mealy resiny honey taste with strawy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, mealy mouthfeel. Dryish mealy resiny floral aftertaste with strawy grassy notes. Nice, and highly drinkable. (0.5l draft at Naboen Pub, Bergen, Norway.)

On tap at Naboen, Bergen. Pours hazy, deep orange with a creamy, white head leaving a good lacin. Cat piss, malts and light honey on the nose. Medium body. Sweet, bitter flavors with piney notes. Smooth to drink and an overall mild impression. Finishes with a dry tongue.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Palme (1449) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAY 2, 2011
Tap @ Naboen, Bergen. Pours a semi clear light brown body with a thin bubbly off-white head. Aroma is low with thin notes of light, yet, exclusive caramel, some nice low fruitiness, grassy hops, and some dark nut-malty notes. Body is medium, texture is slick and somewhat oily, and the carbonation level is quite low. Good caramel tastes, flowerish and slightly herbal with a nice grassy bitterness. It really tastes like a good bitter should. Sometimes I think the traditional English bitters can get quite one dimensional and boring, but this is not like that at all. Ends in a fresh and kind bitter caramel finish. Good stuff!
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 ClubGonzo (1989) - Bergen, NORWAY - APR 15, 2011
UPDATED: APR 16, 2011 On tap @ Naboen, Bergen. I guess Kinn has realized some time ago that Naboen is one of their real money makers, and the starting point for their current upstream success story. In any case, they’ve made a tribute beer to Naboen, a Bitter in the classic English tradition. What a charming surprise. It pours a hazy light nougat body with virtually no head, despite the keykeg (a lot of Kinn beers are cask ales exclusively). Nose is mild, with hints of nuts and roasty caramel. Taste is caramel malts, nuts and some slightly roasty, wood-like tones. Bitter and near-herbal grassy finish. Drinkable, but not the most exciting of beers in my opinion.
