3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 tfredvik (630) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 20, 2012
A hazy, light amber to orange body with a large, creamy, white, very long-lived head that leaves lots of lacing on the glass. A bit faint aroma with fruits (mostly citric notes), herbs, yeast and some faint pale lager-like stuff (pale malts?). Light sweet taste with a moderate bitter finish. Faint flavours with citrus and a grassy bitterness. Pleasant on the palate with a medium body, creamy and smooth mouthfeel and medium carbonation, but still a bit disappointing. I expect more exciting beers than this from the Wizard of Florø!
[75 cl bottle, from Meny Grønland, Oslo]

Bottle@Home. Fruity aroma, light herbal. Yellow/orange, white irregular head, fair lace. Bready, fruity, harsh herbal bitterness. Medium body, rather oily mouth feel. Interesting but unbalanced. And I don’t like the oily mouth feel.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 12/20 Kestral (505) - Årnes, NORWAY - SEP 30, 2011
Tap@Grünerløkka brygghus. Dark, hazy yellow with a finger of white, creamy, rocky head. Loads of lacing. Looks incredible. Fresh and inviting aroma of citrus, grains, with a spicy hop character and some yeast underneath it all.. Some alcohol showing through when it warms. Slightly burnt malt flavours, grains, and peppery hops. Light fruits. Semidry, long finish. Nice and thick mouthfeel, creamy carbonation. This is pretty good, but the hop profile was perhaps a bit raw. Otherwise nice and drinkable, and almost belgian in style.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Mezcalmannen (395) - Oslo, NORWAY - SEP 27, 2011
Hoppy is the first taste character, this later turns fruity, followed by some bitterness in the finish. Aroma of citrus fruits and grass. It pours a copper, almost yellow colour, and boasts a white foam. (75 cl bottle)
