Backlog. From tap at Mi2 at Cardinal 06.05.13. Dark brown. almost black. Sweet aroma of chocolate biscuits, spruce needles and coffee. Taste of bitter chocolate, some hops, dry liquorice, ash and waves of sweetness. Some hops in long aftertaste. Dry and appropriately carbonated mouthfeel. Decent drinkability.

Pours dark brown. Aroma is of cocoa anf some coffee. Taste is complex coffee and cocoa dominating. Very balanced but the finish is a little watery due to the low alcohol.

Bottled, thanks oh6gdx! Very dark brown. Concentrated aroma of coffee and fudge. Mid dry with medium body and crisp, well rounded mouthfeel. Earthy coffee, chocolate, grain and fudge. Long bitter finish. Distinct and pleasant.

Bog bottle (from Vinmonopolet)
Opaque color, small brownish head. Aroma has cocoa and some woody/vegetably notes. Medium-bodied. Cocoa, chocolate, toasted malty flavor. Very cocoa powerish aftertaste. Not really my favourite.

Bottled (from Vinmonopolet, Kirkenes). Pitch black colour, mediumsized brown head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, some mild toffee, ashes, roasted malts and liquorice. Flavour is the same elements, but in a quite thick and bold way. Big ashy finish.

On tap at Elefanten, pours a dark amber with a small beige head. Nose brings out notes of rum and dark dried fruits. Flavour is much along the same lines, with boozy rum and toasted dark fruits. Quite alcoholic but pleasant enough. Decent but not my thing.

Draught at Ølhallen Tromsø. High creamy and lasting light brown head. Lovely balck body. Solid roasted malt coffee choccolate caramel aroma with a nice shot of vanilla as well. Unfortunately the flavor is not so impressive as the aroma as the first impression is that it lacks body. Coffe choccolate caramel liquorice wtih a fair amount of hops bitterness. Low carbonation. Long finish.

Beige head, black brown near clear body. Dotty lacing. Aroma; dark roasted malts, leather, dark chocolate notes, dark wood, dusty hops. Taste; black roasted malts, coffee, cocoa, barbecue notes. Good body, carbonation and feel. Finishes black, coffee, roasted malts. A coffee porter for the chocolate desserts or well spiced barbecue dishes. >> Clear deep sepia pour with rocky, thick, moussey beige foam. Excellent retention, many minutes of retention. Great lacing. Huge hazelnut and vanilla nose. Taste is dry, very bitter, lots of soil and earth, robust porter all around. Hazelnut character is assertive, hop balance evident. Carbonation is lower, mouthfeel is medium-high. Finish is cocoa powder, dry, super clean. This is a great robust porter especially at the low abv.

Sample at Bergen Ølfestival 2014. Black with a tan head. Aroma and taste of roasted malt, chocolate, some light smoke and ash. The finish was dry and bitter. A pleasant one.
