On tap at the Tilt bar, Oslo. Hazy dark brown beer, short pale tan head. Dry crisp palate. Minerally fresh. Unsweet dark chocolate well joined up with mild dry spices - cinnamon readily identifiable. Dry finish with some bitter linger. Different!

Bottle, brygg 58. Pours brown, with a good, thick head. Aroma is nicely roasted malts with chocolate, biscuits, caramel and a pleasant hoppy presence. Flavour is mostly burned malts, which gives a nice bitterness sticking through the finish.

Pours dark brown, big tanned head. Smells of grain, malts, yeast, some caramel. Malty body, good sweetness. Some smoke. Nice bitter finish. A very drinkable beer, and maybe one of the few from Kinn that should actually come in those huge bottles

Lovely deep brown body, close to black, with only the slightest red tint. The large, long-lived, light-brown head laces the glass excellently. This is yet another brown ale with an aroma profile that reminds me more of a stout or a porter than a brown ale: a magnificent, intense, roasted aroma with a dark chocolate overdose, truckloads of coffee and some dark berries and dark fruits. Also dried dark fruits, I think I get prunes. Medium sweet and medium bitter taste, with a long, roasted, bitter aftertaste. Magnificent roasted flavours: coffee and chocolate, with the sweet prunes lurking in the background. Medium body, soft carbonation, oily texture and a roasted, hoppy dry finish. An unusually great beer for a such a low ABV!
[75 cl bottle, brygg 84, from Meny Grønland, Oslo]

Bottle. A big, off-white to beige head leaves lacings as the clear, brown beer finds its way from the glass to my mouth. It’s smooth and quite dry on the palate, with some residual sweetness. The dominant flavor is coffee and roasted malts, leading to a coffee-bitter finish with some fruity hints. Aroma wise is nutty, with prunes and a solid roasted, coffee-like smell. Overall, a nice one, sure living up to its name. Gonna have more of this for sure. 110204

Cask at Cardinal. Deep ruby with a fluffy, half finger thick, light brown head. Coffee, chocolate and liqorice dominate the nose, and the mouth adds more roasted notes with light bitter and light sweet flavors. Flat. Medium body. Oily.
