COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

Bottle. I get a magnificent-looking pour out of this one: hazy deep orange body with a massive creamy eggshell-hued white head. Niice. Smells nice, too: Belgian white candy sugar, yeasty peppery tones and subtle hints of citrus. Me like. Taste is a delicate balance of candy sugar tones vs. a continually growing grassy hop bitterness, which culminates in a semi-dry, fresh bitter finish. In between this graceful contest, I find oranges, pepper and hints of hay. A great saison from Espen Lothe here, well-crafted and highly tuned and balanced without being boring.

Big bottle, bought at Vinmonpolet, Stovner. A huge airy, lasting and lacing white foam, atop of a foggy orangey-golden body. Nice and quite unusual hop aroma; Hay, herbs and mild spices, dust and grass. Some dry pale malts and a note of perfume from the yeast. Semi-dry, clean, almost sharp malt flavor. Distinct herbal notes, grassy and hay-ish. Light-bodied. A certain fruity acidity can be noticed. Prickling carbonation. Dusty/chalky in the mouth. Herbal and grassy bitter tones in a dry ending. Quite rough around the edges, this one. Has good quenching abilities, though.

On tap at Håndverkerstuene. Hazy orange colour with a massive creamy white head. Aroma is laden with bananas, but there’s also yeast and some spices and more bananas. Flavour is sweet, but with some bitterness present. Loads of bananas again as well as pepper and hints of apple, citrus and cinnamon.

On Tap at Håndverkerstuene. Orange hazy, thick white head. Smells of banana, banana and yeast esters. Taste is totally banana. Some sweetness too. Finish is quite hoppy and spicy. Good bitterness. This beer depend on your liking of banana. Do you dislike banana, try another beer :)

Hazy dark orange with a low head. Aroma is malt dominated, but a nice spicy yeast aroma behind all the malt. Flavour is dominated of malt, really good bread touch to it. Alittle spicy from the yeast, good, dry body just as a saison should be. A little bit overcarbonated. Summary: The key to a good saison is to have it as dry as possible. This on is spot on, just a little over-carbonated.

0.75l bottle @ Nabokjelleren Bergen batch 64. Pours a semi hazy dark orange body with some tiny sediments and practically no head. Aroma is grassy hops, some faint citrus and refreshing fruits. No carbonation and medium bodied. Really refreshing thistkiller. Some nice sweet malts, hints of strawberries, clementine, hay, and nice sweet wattermellon. A really mild, slightly dry and nice brew.
