Aroma is perfumed dark malts, spicy and light yeasty, some vanilla and plum, very inviting and complex aroma. Taste is initially a sweet explotion of dark sugars, before it calms down and opens up with a more complex palate, spices and a light alcohol burn, without the alcohol adding sweetness, more dark plums, some kongen av Danmark at the final.Light oily mouthfeel, low viscosity. Very good beer.

Brown, some beige head. Plum, raisin, other red fruit and malt aroma. Hint of belgian style yeast. Sweet. Very good. Will buy again. Could definitly benefit from a couple of years in the cellar.

Dark amber with a light brown head - Malty aroma along with some dark fruit notes - a very nice malt body with some dark fruit notes and some nice alcohol in the back - Finish is malty along with the dark fruit notes along with some spicy alcohol in the back and it lasts for a long time - this was very good

A bit hazy brownish with a cremy head. Sweet aroma and taste of toffee, malt, dried fruit, yeast and raisin. Nice full body on this one, a beer to sip.

75cl bottle at Håndverkerstuene. Batch 278. Best before 2017-07-01. Dark ruby red colour with a minimal head. Aroma is fruits, malts, alcohol, resin and earthy notes. Flavour is round and balanced. Notes of malts, sugar or syrup, alcohol and fruits. Some hints of pine.Lingering very nice quadrupel.

Bottle shared with (and courtasy of) ClubGonzo. The colour is deep burgundy and is pretty clear, and with a light beige medium head. Aroma of dried fruit, nuts and some oak, alcohol and esters. I find dried fruit in the flavour as well along with dark berries, wood, leather and again some alcohol. More Belgian-like in the mouth. Slick and rich mouthfeel, and has a light bitterness. A good powerful ale but feels also a bit unbalanced and fresh. I think it will improve with aging.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet in Valkendorfsgate, Bergen. Pours a deep amber-coppery body with a small white head. Nose is nuts, biscuits, grains and hints of caramel, raisins and alcohol. Taste is hazelnut, almonds, grains, caramel, hints of biscuits and booze. Strong carbonation, full body. All right I suppose, but it lacks some of the multi-layered complexity I associate with a good quad.

0.75 L bottle. Hazy deep orangey amber. Dense beige head. Fruity yeast up front, followed by a nice smell of burnt sugar, chocolate fudge, and some light pepper tones. Refined and delicate malt sweetness. Taste of chocolate and molasses. Nicy plummy fruitiness. Light spicy sidenotes. Soft and warm in the mouth. Near full body. Discreet peppery bitterness in the finish. Really good stuff.

Flaske 0,75l fra Vinmonopolet, Tromsø Langnes. Batch 265. Dyp mørk amber. Høyt luftig skum med litt farge. God og litt søt aroma av plommer. Smaken er mandler. Litt tørr etterhvert med tiltakende syrlighet. Alkoholen merkes som et bakteppe men er godt integrert og merkes knapt.

Flaske fra polet, i mitt Duvel-glass: for et perfekt valg til nyttårsaften, etter et godt måltid med pinnekjøtt, denne gjør dessert helt overflødig! Mørkebrunt med højt skum i belgisk stil, desverre legger det seg fort. Alleredearomaen og smaken på skummet gir løfte om hva som kommer: tørket fiken, sjokoloade, karamell, litt bærfriskhet og det hele mykt avrundet med alkoholen meget diskret plassert. Savner litt karbonering slik at munnfylden ikke får topp score. Et fremragende øl, håper Kinn fortsetter å lage dette!

75cl bottle from Vinmonopolet. Pours slightly hazy brown with a beige head. Malty aroma with dark fruits, caramel and a hint of chocolate and alcohol. Some roasy notes too. Sweet, fruity and well balanced with a light bitterness in the finish. Pleasant beer, but nothing exceptional. Nice and enjoyable beer for Christmas eve. (2012-12-24)
