3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Vinmonopolet. Pours almost clear dark ruby with a big creamy off-white head. Aroma is perfumed dark malts, spicy and light yeasty, some vanilla and plum, very inviting and complex aroma. Taste is initially a sweet explotion of dark sugars, before it calms down and opens up with a more complex palate, spices and a light alcohol burn, without the alcohol adding sweetness, more dark plums, some kongen av Danmark at the final.Light oily mouthfeel, low viscosity. Very good beer.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle. It pours an unclear, dark reddish golden body under an off-white head of good height. The aroma is sugary and fruity, with figs, some alcohol and a touch of something woody. It’s full-bodied and lighlty warming on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation level, quite high but pleasant. Figs, a generic fruityness, some dark sugars and alcohol notes in the flavor, with a bitterness trying to balance it. Lasting finish. It lacks some of the depth and complexity found in the best quads, and to be honest it’s not spot on as a quad, but it’s sure a fine beer. Hope to find it again this Christmas season. 140530
