Tan high long lasting foam, light brown appearance. A bit salty, but very fruity taste. Fruity aroma and long lasting bitter ending. Definitively the best beer made in Norway!

Starting on the negative side, this bear is a bit groggy to the eye. But as soon as you taste it, you’re glad that the bottle is not on the small side. One of the best pale ale’s I’ve tasted. Flowers in the nose, long lasting bitterness. Strong, and strongly recommended!

4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
75 cl bottle, from a trade with Cunningham. Hazy golden/apricot color, nice lasting offwhite head. Lovely hop aroma, pineapple, grass, hay, apples, pine, mango, perfume, milky and creamy notes, grapefruit notes, pear, iron notes. Hoppy grassy flavor, perfume, hay, pine, mango, fruity from pineapples, grapes and pears, grapefruit notes, some metal. Nice bitter finish with metal, pine and grass. Great beer, it would have been on absolute top-level if the flavor had matched the wonderful aroma.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
I like hazy bodies, but this one is overdoing it a bit: the body is very cloudy, almost opaque, with a medium amber colour. The head is quite large and consists of creamy rocks of off-white foam that reduces to a fully lasting layer after a long time. The aroma is rather intense, delicious, and definitely heavy hoppy! The elements are on the resinous side with quite subdued tropical fruits, although there of course are decent amounts of grapefruits in here. It’s also very sweet with caramel notes, but still it’s the sharp and crisp resin, pine needles and bitter grapefruit that play the main roles. The sweetness is also pretty obvious in the taste: a moderate sweetness tries to combat the bitterness that kicks in from the very beginning, but of course the hops win, and it all ends in a very heavy bitter finish. Resinous floral flavour profile with an extremely long-lasting and lingering heavy bitter tongue-prickeling finish. Also sweet caramel notes and faint alcohol. Very pleasant mouthfeel with a medium to full body, a pleasant creamy texture and a soft carbonation. A remarkable IPA, but it can’t get much bitter than this before the drinkability starts to suffer.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
grass, spruce, citrus, herbs, resin - almost like chewing on hops. Around 10C it was delicious, and I had it with fish and stewed peas - at 22C the taste of hops where almost too much. But then like hops. As an IPA - a decent one. As a hoppy beer, I think this is the best I have tasted. A great bottle - and I did not have to share.

4.2 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: NOV 17, 2012 Pours a golden colour, with typical Kinn head; belgian style on almost every beer, a joy for the eye. Aroma is very fresh, from citrus, floral notes and grass. American style hoppy finish that?s amazingly good. Really smooth and balanced beer. Fantastic APA!

75 cl bottle from Vinmonopolet (batch # 232), bb 05/2015
Hazy, slightly brownish orange color. Frothy head, OK lacing. Strongly hoppy nose has resins, mango, papaya and citrus fruits, some vegetal notes and a touch of alcohol. Flavor starts medium sweet, pale caramelly and slightly nutty. Quite strong, reisiny bitterness hits in the finish. Late finish has nice floral notes but also some vegetal elements. Enjoyably smooth, rather velvety mouthfeel, slghtly harsh hop bite. Slightly thin in the finish. Solid IPA: not great but enjoyable.
