3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Dicey Reilly’s, Ballyshannon
Dark amber, bit hazy, frothy white head, some lacing
Aroma of gonger, sweet caramel, spices, soft fruits, interesting aroma
Taste of ginger, caramal, gingerbread, some citrus, slight vegetal note (maybe from pumpkins), quite intense spices, lots of flavour
Palate - soft carb, medium body, oily, quite a rich texture, fairly sweet. Finish as main flavour, sweet spicy, zesty hops, soft fruits
Overall - Wasn’t sure that I’d like this but it was good flavoured, interesting beer

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Reddish amber with a thin head. Aroma is berry and Ginger ale. Flavor is spicy pumpkin, red lemonade, some pumpkin with growing ginger towards the finish. Not a big fan of pumpkin beers but this is alright.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the black sheep. Appearance: murky rusty red with a one finger thick eggshell yellow head. Aroma: a little pumpkin spice. Some dark berries, malty with a hint of ginger and rye. Flavour: malty at first making way for some rye and some great ginger and pumpkin spice, a little hoppy too with a delightful pumpkin spice and rye finish. Quite good.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
500ml bottle from Bradley’s, enjoyed in a thistle glass at home on a nice wintry night. Pours a ruby amber with a one finger off-white head that lasts a while before slowly dissipating, but leaves a clinging 1mm head. Lovely lacing too. Aroma is buckets of gingerbread, cake, some nutmeg and a hint of fig. Taste opens with a medium spicy sweetness, mainly ginger, before transforming into the clean, crisp rye bitterness. Overtones of blackberry too. The ginger creeps back in to leave a nice light lingering sweet aftertaste. Not too dry - they got the hops/rye balance right here. Soft smooth carbonation but good medium body. An absolute delight of a beer, probably the nicest spice beer I’ve ever tasted. Great to see such good beer coming out of such a small operation in Donegal.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours murky dark red with white listing head, nice lacing. Sweet pumpkin, lemon, basil, herb nose. Sweet taste with dry citrus bitterness. Light body with mild carbonation. Its light for its colouring but is interesting.
