3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Golden amber colour, thin white head. Good hop flavour, lively mouthfeel, one of the better Irish IPAs.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
50cl bottle from The Black Sheep, Dublin. Pours hazy, murky copper/amber with thick and lasting off-white head; plenty of lacing. Aroma is lovely: citrus-driven with plenty of pithy grapefruit going on, tangerine, floral notes and herby/yeasty character aplenty. Touch of sweet caramel on the nose too. Taste is grapefruit, orange, slight herb, yeast notes, light caramel, bread. Decent degree of bitterness in the aftertaste, lots of lingering citric notes. Had this a couple of times and really enjoyed it; the brewery’s tiny and I’ve definitely seen some change between the 3 different batches I’ve had. This could certainly be tweaked a bit as it’s a little messy on the palate, but to be fair, I think this is one of the best Irish pales I’ve had - at least in terms of hop character.

Bottle. Hazy lemon with a short lived head. Aroma is citrus hop. Flavour is medium bitter hop, citrus, grapefruit finish. A bit rough but not bad..
