Bottle from my wifes relative in Nagoya, Japan. A golden coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Vague hoppy, grassy aroma. Tastes fruity, malty, bitter. It’s just about OK.

Solid pils, but certainly noting amazing. Opened to a big skunky, grass nose. Decent body. Lots of munich malt with a solid bitter finish. Actually a pretty good approximation of the real thing.

New Years Special Bottle. Strong bad - Skunk or Rotten Eggs. Golden in Colour. Bitter taste and a strong Acid aftertaste. Ichy feeling in my mouth. Bitter feel lasts a long time afterwards. I honestly didn’t enjoy it.

Sampled from a 0.33L bottle. Pale yellow body. Low white head. Dry grainy nose. Some floral and hay-ish hops, too. Taste is grainy, with a fine dryness. Clean, more than medium bitterness. Crisp on the palate. Light-bodied. Short dry ending.

Big coarseish head. Yellow body with light carbonation. Sharp papery waxy aroma. Weird. Dry grassy floral taste with citric papery notes. Sharpish mealy mouthfeel. Mid-bodied. Dry waxy fruity aftertaste with resiny notes. Bone dry, and weird, but not bad. Lots of flavour. (0.33l bottle from Naito-san. Label features a uniformed koala, and says "Toara Toraku ? su biru".)

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2010 Very pale, light gold color with a tall white head that settled down but remained the whole time. Clear. Pale malt aroma, with hops as well. Rather slight aroma. Medium malt flavor, with a touch of sweetness, but tons of hops. Very bitter for a pilsner and somewhat fragrant as well. A touch of fruit. Rather light overall. Lightish body as well. Very hoppy, bitter finish. Long-lasting as well. A pretty interesting pils, with great hops, though it could use a little more malty richness to balance it out. The hops are surprising, though, and thus quite nice.

Slightly fruity smell; some banana and pine on the nose. Golden yellow colour with nice suds. Taste of bitter sugar water, caramel, apples, burning leaves, somewhat soapy, but interesting. Finish was wildly bitter and lingering. Not sure what I think of this one but it left an impression.

@ GJBF 2007. Hops! Malts, citrus hops attack the nose. Hops jump out at you in the flavor as well. Citrus hops and toasted malts power you to a bitter finish. Bitter, but not dry mouth with a hoppier finish than a normal pilsner. A real good brew.

God, this beer is way underrated. Excellent in your face hoppy bitterness jumps out of the nose. Toasted malt backbone, with firm amout of hops balancing things out. Bitter, bitter finish. Very nice.
