2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Full name: "Akiaji Specially Limited Autumn Brew". Can. Dark yellow colour. Aroma of sweet malts some hops. The flavour is malty, bit fruity and with a sweet cramelish finish. I was surprised how good this actually tasted after buying it from a Lawson some night in Hiroshima. Not bad at all.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
2010 can. Very bubbly, slight darkish gold with a tin head. Light malt aroma with a touch of cardboard, slight grassy hops. Light caramel in the flavor, cardboard, slightly cloying corny sweetness, ok bitterness. Why do they bother if they are going to put in rice, corn, and starch?

Can, Chez Martin, Yonago, Japan, 22/09/1 (’rich taste of autumn’, apparently). Straw with a thin head. Almond and battenberg on the palate; vanilla, rubber...bog standard strong lager without a trace of autumn. Vomited coriander aroma.

2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
UPDATED: SEP 25, 2011 33 cl can @ hotel room, Kyoto. Canned on 08/2011, BBE 04/2012
Very clear yellow color and bright white head. Aroma of grain, butter, some cardboard, corn, citrus and gooseberry bush. Flavour has sweet malt and some butter with hints of gooseberry bush. Also some starch-like elements here and somewhat sticky finish. Rather full-bodied for a basic pale lager but taste is still very bulky.

Can, hope this will make my 22 hour travel day go away. Golde, ok creamy head, pearling bubbles. Light grainy, peanutty aroma. Nutty, leafy, unobstrusive, ok balance, with a hint hop aromatics and a dry grassy finish. Chewy enough body, Light citric retronasal.

2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tallboy, bought at 7-eleven cross from Holiday Inn Express SoHo Hong Kong. Pours a rich yellow color. with much fanfare of a white head that disppears before you’re ready to take the first sip. Aroma ihas good bitterness but a corn malt backbone. Flavor is decidedly bitter and rescinding metallic.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
From a can. Yellow gold colour with white head. Aroma, bit of caramel, bit of hops, little bit of spice. Taste is a bit metallic, bit weird grainy and a bit caramel, spiced apple. Hints of various flavours, but nothing seems to really come through to the front. Fizzy in the mouth. Not wild about it, too chemically and bland.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Can from local Yamaya store. 2012 version of this Kirin seasonal. Grassy malty aroma with just a touch of hops. Clear straw. 1-cm, white head, a bunch of bubbles streaming skyward. Sweet initial; light cookie sweetness in mid palate; balanced finish in which a little bit of hoppiness peeks out from behind the leaves. Thin body, but a little more full-bodied than the regular lager. This seems thinner and less malty than last year’s version.
