rayg1 (404), Ft. Mill, South Carolina, USA Feb 18, 2008 Poured out golden in color. Little to no head. Aroma was light hops almost non-existant really. A light hay note as well. Nothing special going on here except a thicker bodied and slightly more alcoholic pale lager. No brewmiester’s special as far as I’m concerned.
Capa (719), Yokosuka, Japan Oct 17, 2007 Clear and golden with a fluffy white head. All beers should have this color- or, lack of color... Caramel malts, light fruits, butter, and some hops. Smooth body. Mellow hops with a malty backbone. Finish has a touch of bitterness. I’d actually make this my regular boring macro if only bars would serve it. Geth_in_beer (663), Nova Scotia, Canada Apr 21, 2007 From can. A little better than most Japanese beers. Actually liked drinking this one, but I was thirsty. larsga (2132), Oslo, Norway Apr 11, 2007 Medium shiny white lasting head. Deepish yellow body with carbonation. Light metallic caramel aroma with notes of butter. Dry grassy hop taste with buttery malty notes and a chalky bitter background. The hops are exquisite, but the rest really sucks. Dry metallic grass aftertaste. A curate`s egg, really. (0.5l can.) Doppelganger (1112), Oxford, Oxfordshire, England Apr 11, 2007 Can, from Japan from my friend Tak. Bright copper, tidy white cap of foam. Soft, clean caramel malt aroma, a touch of earthy hops. Subdued, but what’s there is nice. Brassy fresh malt flavor, brisk, but not overwhelming carbonation, a little lingering mineral finish. A very precise and pleasant beer. A little more aroma volume would improve things, but even as is, rather nice.
