Wombata (358) - Kobe, - JAN 31, 2013
Aroma: Very floral and perfumed hop with undertones of earthy German hops. Lightly roasted grain, orange peel and pear. Flavor: Light-medium roasted grain, orange, orange peel and spice. Finishes with earthy, grainy flavors and drying bitterness in the back of the throat. Palate: Has more body than the standard Kirin lager. Starts smooth and then turns dry on the finish. Comment: Sold at 7-11 convenience stores. A class above the usual commercial Japanese lager.

Bottle pour in Narita, Chiba, Japan. Pours a clear straw yellow with a pillowy white head that dissipates quickly. Almost no lacing. Aroma is yeasty and grainy, stale. Taste is unspectacular, a bit sweet, a little bitter, with a bitter finish and aftertaste. Thin mouthfeel.

Grilled bread, floral hops. Roasted malt, fruity hops, orange candy, bread, bitter finish. Quite tasty and well-rounded for a major Japanese brew, likely one of the very top Kirin brews.

6% clear deep gold pourvwith a thick lfluff off-white head. Rich malty nose, creamy mouthfeel, a bit sugary but fairly malty, a bit of neutral hop bitterness to. Ok for a macro. nice palate

Straight from the bottle. Hops and malts, but not very distinct. A little skunky, lots of bread, and wheat. A pretty standard macro lager with a bit more hops.

Bottle - From bottle - Pale malts and some mild earthy grassy hops. Clear gold with small white head. Big dark malt and bitterness with some fruit esters. Very odd, almost a medicinal liquorice flavor .

Wow, I really thought this was going to be a stout. Aroma is very sweet with some caramel. Body is golden and clear, white head. Taste is weak, even weaker than regular Japanese beers. I would not recommend this one.

Bottle with a pull top. This was pretty nice. Had a good strong nose of fragrant hops. Nice malty depth, with notes of fresh fruit and bitter toffee. Restrained carbonation. Good train drinking, rewarding yourself at the end of the day (like they tell you to do on the bottle). ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Botella. big mouth (reminds me of my days in the US with "Mickeys" brewskies. Clear golden with a medium head. Malty caramel and hoppy aroma. Good mouthfeel. Flavour has a good maltiness with ok hoppiness, some caramel, medium bitterness.

Bottle on Boat from Noashima to Uno. Clear yellow - white head. Light malty. Some fresh hops. Light bitterness. Hay. Bread. Egg. OK light floral. Pleasant, but a bit simple. (5/3/5/2/12)
