Said 5% right on the label, so I’m gonna roll with the fact that this is the 5% and not the other one. It pours okay in a glass with decent head but has a lemony aroma without complexity. Easy to drink but again there is little there. Refreshing indeed, but nothing beyond that. Perhaps that’s all they intended anyway.

Purchased in a 33cl bottle from Tesco, and brewed by Well’s and Young’s in Bedford. Clear, golden appearance with short-lived white head. Malty aroma and sweetish taste balanced by grassy hops with notes of hay. Exceptionally clean tasting. Slightly characterless, but well-balanced. Refreshing, but a little bland. Note the moustachioed monster on the label - allegedly a reference to the moustache of the founder, Thomas Blake Glover. He was a Scottish entrepreneur and founded, amongst other enterprises, the Japanese Brewing Company in the late nineteenth-century. The Japanese Brewing Company later became Kirin.

Pálida acetinada, completamente translúcida. Creme branco denso. Formação boa de bolhas. Aroma bem maltado. Um pouco doce. Nada de lúpulo. Amargor médio para baixo e de curta duração. Persiste mais um doce de malte, um pouco de caramelo. Retrogosto ácido com um amargor médio.

UPDATED: DEC 3, 2013 33cl bottle, brewed in Russia: The beer starts malty, slightly sweet. The mainpart is more bitter than expected, harmonises good with the malty-sweet body. The aftertaste is long, nice, slightly malty-bitter and full bodied!
For a lager very nice! --> 12/12/11/11
