Finest barley malt, premium hops, smooth finish, no bitter aftertaste.

Editor's Note: Also brewed in the US: "Anheuser-Busch began brewing Kirin Lager, Kirin Ichiban and Kirin Light at its Los Angeles brewery in 1997. The agreement marks the first time Anheuser-Busch has produced foreign brands for sale in the United States."

Pours a pale gold yellow color with lots of large bubbles cascading up the sides and a medium amount of fizzy white head. Aroma is slightly grassy and sweet, slight corn scent. Flavor has decent body for a pale lager, basically sweet corn and malt flavors with a hint of dry light hops and grass. Overall, not bad depending on your food pairing. Goes great with sushi.

Pretty poor. Itís Bud under a different name. Maybe slightly better but still not worth the extra money its costs because itís an "imported" beer.

(24 oz can: $2.79 at BevMo in La Jolla, CA) Date stamped on bottom of can: 22-Nov-05. This beer pours a picture perfect pale lager to me, medium straw in color, crystal clear in appearance, with a few dozen separate streams of carbonation bubbles that start very small and slow-moving at the bottom of the glass, and as they move up the glass, they gradually increase in size and speed. Mesmerizing to look at. The bubbly, snow-white pours to over an inch in height and settles in rocky fashion to a thin layer over several minutes, leaving scattered patches of chunky foam on the glass. But the praise ends with the visuals. Grassy and lightly sweet nose smells like generic macro-beer. Macro-like grassy and grainy flavor has a somewhat bitter finish and is further marred by a moderate metallic flavor that is strong enough that I am definitely not imagining it because this beer comes in a can. Body is light, clean, and quite carbonated for a lively mouthfeel and plenty of sonorous, reverberating eructations. This clean, macro lager really doesnít taste any different than something like Budweiser, but Bud is far being the worst beer Iíve ever tasted either. The biggest issue with this beer is the very distracting metallic taste in every sip. But I bought this in the can for two reasons: so that I didnít have to buy a six-pack, and because I figured the canned beer couldnít be negatively affected by harsh lighting.

2nd favorite of japanese sushi beers. Would like to do a side by side with asahi. Creamy head, yellow fizzy beer.

Ratings are tough. This is not that bad, and the bottle ads some life to a party. But how do you rate an aroma on something like this...? Overall refreshing and not horrid.

A dragon and a woman have a baby. With a story like that whats not to like. Except for the whole beastiality thing its kind of a cool story. Alright the story stinks but this is a nice lager. Easy drinking and non evasive this is a good beer with any meal. The flavor is not dominating that it takes away from your dinner. I only drink it when Iím having Sushi but I always go for this beer.

Bitter malt aroma with some hops. Crystal clear amber colour with poor head and no lacing. Bitter malt hop flavour. Very thin. Flat palate.

Good aroma for a lager, not corny, just malty. Orangish-yellow color, minimal head. Corny taste, malty, a little alcohol, but finishes light and watery. Has good body for a lager, but still a little thin with a little too much carbonation. Overall, Iíll drink it, but if itís casual sipping Iím going for, Iíd much rather have a Sam Adams or a Spaten or something.

Pretty standard stuff like most Asian beers, one for necking from the bottle.
