COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Finest barley malt, premium hops, smooth finish, no bitter aftertaste.

Editor's Note: Also brewed in the US: "Anheuser-Busch began brewing Kirin Lager, Kirin Ichiban and Kirin Light at its Los Angeles brewery in 1997. The agreement marks the first time Anheuser-Busch has produced foreign brands for sale in the United States."

Absolutely terrible. Smells skunky, but this isn’t reflected in the taste because there is virtually no taste to speak of, unless you’re talking about the nasty aftertaste. The label refers to the beer as ’subtle’...I’ll give them that one.

Disconcerting yellow. Tall head. Brothy, yeasty aroma. Brothy, metallic, bitter flavor. Nothing to suggest that you should pay a couple of extra bucks for this over a domestic lager.

Smooth-bodied Japanese lager. Pilsner style. Nice flavor, especially compared to Sapporo or most other Oriental beers that are imported to the Midwest. More enjoyable than the standard Kirin lager for me.

shithouse beer, easy flavours, i picked up some rice on the aftertaste, pretty boring, not the worst, but pretty darn crappy.

My first impression was, ’Wow, this tastes like Bud.’ Then I read the label and it says ’under supervion by Anheuser-Busch’. Not bad if you want to pay twice as much for Bud in a different package.

At first it seemed to have a somewhat bock-like character, fuller on the nose and slightly richer looking than the typical Japanese macro crap. Nah, only fooling. Does have a bit more character, more graininess and hops than Sapporo, though; if thats a recommendation.

Don’t know that I could tell this from regular Kirin lager.

UPDATED: APR 1, 2005 Has the wet cardboard grassy flavor typical of this type. Better than Mexican anyhow, nothing special.

This is a very decent commercial beer. I was very impressed when I tried it. Not chemical tasting but had a very rich and pleasant taste. No rough edges or bad aftertastes. I recommend this beer highly.
