Review: Can of Kirin Ichiban Pale Lager, 5%ABV
Kirin Ichiban, my first time having a Japanese beer, was impressive on its first showing. In general it was pretty nice and quite drinkable
On pouring, the appearance was of a pale yellow colour with a very big creamy head that lingers for some time, and leaves a bit of lacing on the glass. Had a nice look to it.
Aroma: A pleasant sweet smell of a light grain and malt aroma.
A nice light beer to drink and went down easy enough. The taste had some initial sweetness followed by a very enjoyable bitter aftertaste of hops, kind of creamy. Tastes of hay, wheat, and light floral hops. A good clean, crisp beer, smooth, I liked it. Recommended for someone who is looking for a nice light beer to relax with

Pours a light clear golden color with white head. Typical lager flavors on this one, mainly just cereal grain on the nose and palate.

22 FL OZ ($3.30) This is a very light tasting beer and goes down like water. Its not bad but I prefer some taste to my beer. I’ve come to expect all lager to be pretty much watered down beer. nothing too intense and I don’t recommend this one.

On tap with my brew goblin. Better than any macro brew in North America. Tastes of hay, wheat, and light floral hops. Not a bad body on it for a lager and a good white head. Taste is crisp and clean, quite a refreshing lager.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20

Light straw color. Light grassy to no aroma. Light body. Just what you'd expect from a light lager...light, light, light. Nice with sushi.
