2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
650 ml bottle.
Aroma: flat, little floral notes and hay. Yeast, and alcohol (very lightly).
Appearance: crystal clear golden robe, with lofty white head which vanishes somewhat fast "a la" commercial beer.
Taste: Feels sweet with a hint of umami.
Palate: light body, thin and oily texture, lively with long astringent finish.
Overall: Bah... itís ok. I would not insult my guest by offering them that, nor my hosts by refusing it. I will not buy again thatís certain. No complexity in this one.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. This gear always gives the impression that itís somehow better than other pale lagers when it really isnít. Maybe a bit. Pours Clear Gold with a White head and a mess of bubbles. Tastes pretty inoffensive. Light malt, very light hops and extremely light bitterness.

2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 5/20
Pours slightly darker than Bud with a white head the leaves little lacing. The nose is faint cereal. The taste is malt-cereal. Better than a Bud. Thought I was buying a genuwine Japanese beer. But Noooo! A-Bís been brewing this since long before InBev. "Under the strict supervision of Kirin" Uh-huh, thatís why the ABV is higher. InBev has A-B brewing Beckís. Come on. Despite all the science, there seems to be more than our present science understands. Big surprise since this is the historical record.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20
I usually only get this when I am eating sushi or something, so decided to buy it at the grocery store to give it a try in the comfort of my own home. Actually, I was going to cook with it, but elected to go with another beer so got stuck drinking this 24 oz. can tonight. Poured it into an oversized wine glass. Has a clear golden color, almost identical to the gold in their Kirin label. The aroma is a little skunky, but taste isnít all that bad. Barley, malts, and other sugary flavors. A little metallic, but not too bad. The aftertaste is actually what saves this beer, smooth and sweet. Not too bitter as I would expect from the skunky aroma. Just recently found out owned by Anheiser, and brewed in California, so not really a Japanese beer. I totally agree about going with Sapporo instead. Might have to drink that next time I eat Sushi so I can get a fresh review in.
