Finest barley malt, premium hops, smooth finish, no bitter aftertaste.

Editor's Note: Also brewed in the US: "Anheuser-Busch began brewing Kirin Lager, Kirin Ichiban and Kirin Light at its Los Angeles brewery in 1997. The agreement marks the first time Anheuser-Busch has produced foreign brands for sale in the United States."

Pale. Sweetish aroma, sweetish maltiness, few hops. Nothing special, but less offensive than many macros.

Brewed in Los Angeles. Typical Japanese beer flavor. Somewhat metallic, and an old flavor. Need to drink this one very cold.

For a lager, this one has a fairly full body. Short palate, but definately better that U.S. lagers.

On tap at PF Changs. Decent but light headed. Vivid golden color. Aroma is some malt but nothing distinguishable. Flavor is a bit sweet, bitter aftertaste (for an int’l style pilsener), quite crisp but a bit thin. Nothing to write home about but a decent pilsener.

Large bottle @ I Love Sushi in ABQ, NM. Large white, frothy head atop a clear yellow body. Not that much aroma to pass along.. some grains, but that’s it. Light, unobtrusive flavor, but nothing special (definately not Special Premium Reserve quality). Yes, this does put out the fire of oriental spices, but not much more.

Ok - so the main reason I reviewed this beer so highly is that it is the best beer at the HEB supermarket for under $6 per 6-pack. This isn't a flashy beer, it is very functional. It compliments a Hibachi steak very well. It is one of the few beers my wife and I actually agree on. Light enough for her, tasty enough for me, and less than a buck a bottle. Not a world champ, but something I like to keep in the fridge.

En bouteille. Lager asiatique typique. Elle manque de cette fraîcheur propre aux lagers tradtionnelles. Très ordinaire.

Slight spice aftertaste, similiar to when you eat a whole lot of carrots, nice gold hue, small white head. inital taste of maize and spices, slight hint of fruit
