Finest barley malt, premium hops, smooth finish, no bitter aftertaste.

Editor's Note: Also brewed in the US: "Anheuser-Busch began brewing Kirin Lager, Kirin Ichiban and Kirin Light at its Los Angeles brewery in 1997. The agreement marks the first time Anheuser-Busch has produced foreign brands for sale in the United States."

Japanese equiv. of AB or Miller. Growing up in Japan, this beer gets high marks (for a macro) from me for mostly nostalgic reasons.

Pours a crisp gold with a small white head that is short lived Aroma is very faint but a slightly malt and sour note is apparent. Crisp and, lightly carbonated. A little heavy for a light lager

650 ml bottle. Aroma: flat, little floral notes and hay. Yeast, and alcohol (very lightly). Appearance: crystal clear golden robe, with lofty white head which vanishes somewhat fast "a la" commercial beer. Taste: Feels sweet with a hint of umami. Palate: light body, thin and oily texture, lively with long astringent finish. Overall: Bah... itís ok. I would not insult my guest by offering them that, nor my hosts by refusing it. I will not buy again thatís certain. No complexity in this one.

Canít believe I havenít rated this one yet. Itís a good match for sushi, but not much else. Straw yellow pour, shrinking white head. Lots of corn in the flavor. Taste testing blindfolded, I hope I could distinguish this from a US macro.

16oz bottle.Pours clear golden with a small white fast fading head.Slight aroma of malt and hops. There is a small amount of hops with some maltiness that is easy to drink but lacks flavor.

Pale yellow with a white head. Light malty aroma. Flavor of rice and light malt with a sort of herby aftertaste. Not a pleasant beer.

UPDATED: FEB 3, 2005 Cheap yellow gold pour with a flimsy white head. Unimpressive and unnatractive typical pilsner aroma. Rice and grassy hops in flavor. Sushi would be the best part of this meal...not so much the beer.

330ml bottle. Normally drinks taste better the more alcohol has been consumed; When tasting this beer, I had already consumed a fair amount. It had an aroma of lemons and farts. Taste of citrus and iron. Quite refreshing though. Would go well with crisps or nuts.

From bottle. Golden colour. Extremely average lager. Nothing wrong with it. Sort of makes sense in a Japanese restaurant.

had it on tap at jolly gardner in putney, slightly fruity and easy to drink, not too gassy.
