Finest barley malt, premium hops, smooth finish, no bitter aftertaste.

Editor's Note: Also brewed in the US: "Anheuser-Busch began brewing Kirin Lager, Kirin Ichiban and Kirin Light at its Los Angeles brewery in 1997. The agreement marks the first time Anheuser-Busch has produced foreign brands for sale in the United States."

12 oz bottle. Pours a piss yellow color with a small white head. This one taste mostly water but a slightly fruit taste to it. It’s smooth with no aftertaste, but nothing about it stands out significantly.

Pours clear straw yellow with small white head that soon vanishes leaving only minor skim. Light aroma of malt, yeast and cereal. Taste is mild and pleasant, good for accompanying sushi or spicy food without being assertive. AB InBev is the actual brewer, so this in most respects this is another macro lager. But there’s a refreshingly crisp rice note. Those who want to brag about how big and bold and alcoholic their microbrews are will flee. It’s a beer to have with Asian food on a hot day, when you want to have more than one.

I havent had many Japanese beers to compare this to, but I thought it was decent. Pour is clear yellow-orange with a lot of carbonation. Fresh smell. taste is slightly bitter, rice, wheat, little hops. Little to no aftertaste. I drink this any time Im eating sushi, which this beer goes great with.

Not terrible considering this beer is associated with Anheuser Busch, but not great. It’s got a little of that dry Asian beer tast. But the flavor is still lacking.

330ml bottle. Normally drinks taste better the more alcohol has been consumed; When tasting this beer, I had already consumed a fair amount. It had an aroma of lemons and farts. Taste of citrus and iron. Quite refreshing though. Would go well with crisps or nuts.

Golden, clear with a white head. Smells and tastes like bud except maybe a little more sweetness. Petty good.

Brilliant straw colour with thick persistent white head. Faint herbal aroma. Thin bodied. Quite dry. Slightly grainy taste. Clean. Looks better than it tastes.

Appearance: Dark gold, small head, quickly goes away Aroma: Malt, sweet Taste: Same, with a faint bitterness Palate: Semi-refreshing, not much to say Standard Pilsner, but definitely better than Asahi Kampai

Meatmallet (126) - Salem, Illinois, USA - AUG 7, 2009
Appearance: Clear and golden in color with a thick white head. The head leave a nice lace ring at the top of the glass. Smell: Nothing outstanding. It smelled of grains and rice. There were faint hints of caramel malt and a bit of grass. Taste: Starts with a bit of sweet malt but ends a bit bitter. The rice and grass dominate the taste and there is a bit of underlying skunk to it. Mouthfeel/drinkability: Light bodied and in taste overall I this is a great beer with oriental cuisine. By its self it is nothing special but pair it up with some sushi or Thai food and it is wonderful.

Ricey and slightly bitter. Other than that just average all around.
