Kirin Ichiban is a well-made and extremely eye-catching beer. Can be drunk at a variety of locales, whether you’re hanging out with friends or at a classy party.

I usually only get this when I am eating sushi or something, so decided to buy it at the grocery store to give it a try in the comfort of my own home. Actually, I was going to cook with it, but elected to go with another beer so got stuck drinking this 24 oz. can tonight. Poured it into an oversized wine glass. Has a clear golden color, almost identical to the gold in their Kirin label. The aroma is a little skunky, but taste isn’t all that bad. Barley, malts, and other sugary flavors. A little metallic, but not too bad. The aftertaste is actually what saves this beer, smooth and sweet. Not too bitter as I would expect from the skunky aroma. Just recently found out owned by Anheiser, and brewed in California, so not really a Japanese beer. I totally agree about going with Sapporo instead. Might have to drink that next time I eat Sushi so I can get a fresh review in.

Clear light gold with frothy white head. Not sickly sweet, Yes! Nice malt character. Light dryness. Nothing off putting. Much better than most mass produced pale lagers I?ve had.

On tap at Sawatdee. For what it is a very good beer. Washes my Thai food and Sushi well.

Nothing shines in this drap lager. Worthy of kestrel circa 1982. The aftertaste is similar to that obtained through chewing leather. Not up to their motor industry.

Poured from the large bomber size at a Japanese Steak House in Douglasville, GA. into a pint glass. Aroma- Has that malt aroma that I remember well from my Marine days spent in Japan. Appearance- Has a weak clear yellow color that reminds me of watered down Miller High Life. Taste- This is purely a Japanese version of an American Macro Lager, it is ok at best. Palate- This is a light bodied beer with moderate carbonation. Has a slight skunk finish to it. Overall- Kirin Ichiban is not "number one" in my book when it comes to Japanese macros. I find Asahi and Orion to be far superior in flavor both in Japan and imported into the states.

Pours golden yellow with a short white head. Aroma is yeasty with a hint of rice, taste is slightly sweet, dry, with a hoppy finish. Overall a fine lager from Japan, way better than NL’s most produced beer ’Heineken’.

Can from anywhere in Tokyo. Had this at many a hanami party. One of the better Japanese macro lagers. Slight malty aroma. Grainy taste with rice also noticeable. Palate has some sweetness and a dry, crisp finish.

Fľaša. Zlatá farba, biela pena. Vôňa trávová, železitá, umelá. Chuť práznejšia, sladká, kukuričná. Opäť jemná železitosť a trávovosť. Slabá horká dochuť.
