Thomas_E (4814), Copenhagen, Denmark May 15, 2008 Deep reddish colour with a tan head. Malty, light roasted and vague coffee bitter aroma. Malty, light sweet flavor with fruity notes. Light roasted note in a dry finish.
AvidDirtman (18), , Japan Jul 15, 2008 Poured like tar; thick and impressive. Borderline solid. This stuff was blacker than a chimney sweeps brush. Head was perforated with bubbles like swiss cheese. I expected it to go down like treacle judging by the contents of the glass but it was suprisingly fizzy and light. Roasted malts aroma and taste; like it says on the can. Burnt toast, liquorice and dark chocolate and maybe a smidgin of Terry’s chocolate orange. Taste improved as the beer warmed and found myself thoroughly enjoying this brew. Probably one of the best macro beers i’ve had in Japan. Lubiere (3153), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Apr 19, 2008 Konichiwa, konichiwa! A deep dark stout with a thick collapsing moka head. Light chocolate in aroma, with a bit of caramel. In mouth, a fruity roasted coffee, with a bit of burned toast bitterness in final. A bit thinner but good. Can brought back by colleague from Japan, Nov. 2007. gunnfryd (2683), Kristiansand, Norway Apr 18, 2008 Can, thx to faroeviking. Dark brown colour with a beige head. Aroma is roasted, coffee, chocolate. flavour is fruit, roasted, coffee, chocolate.OK beer. yngwie (3385), Kristiansand, Norway Apr 6, 2008 Can, thx to faroeviking. A dark brown, clear-looking beer with a beige head. Roasted, slightly burnt malty aroma with notes of bonfire. Very roasted flavor with some sweetness, but not enough to prevent it from feeling very dry in the mouth. Medium body fullness. A lovely beer, but a bit one-dimentional. (080301)
