2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
This Kirin Stout pours a thin black and is topped by a persistent cappuccino colored hear. Decent amount of lacing.
The smell is very minimal. Whisps of coffee and chocolate with a metallic edge.
The taste is light and bitter with a slight metallic finish. Hints of coffee.
The mouthfeel is very light with a small amount of carbonation.
Overall, this beer is ok but nothing special.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Was pretty suprised by this.
Pours pretty much black with nice tan head.
Aroma is pretty subdued but pleasant, a bit like sweet licorice.
I think it tastes great for a 5% beer, Malt, toffee, licorice play neatly together. Hop bitterness is only faint, but seems fitting.

Can. Dark brown with a tan head that doesn’t last that long. Roasty aroma with licorice, cola, coffee. Getting towards watery. Quite dry, very clean. Moderate roast, coffee, licorice. Pretty much no bitterness. Pleasant enough.

35cl can in HK. The beer starts dry-roasted, fresh. Nice sourish roasted hints. Fresh and easy to drink, but nice roasted with bitter hints. Not too deep, but round. Not too sweet, nice.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Can from The Japan Centre, London. It pours deep brown with a decent tan head. The nose is toasty, bitter-sweet, rye bread and chocolate. The taste is bitter, toast, earthy roast, cocoa, mild acidity, light soy sauce and liquorice with a short, dry finish. Medium body and average. Simple stout action. Drinkable enough.
