JensenTaster (1485), Denmark Mar 3, 2008 (on can, thanks faroeviking)Vary black, small, white head. Cool aroma; cream, dry toast. Mildly toasty taste, nice balance.and an extremly good finish, almost like a imperial stout; very complex and lingering. yngwie (3602), Kristiansand, Norway Apr 6, 2008 Can, thx to faroeviking. A dark brown, clear-looking beer with a beige head. Roasted, slightly burnt malty aroma with notes of bonfire. Very roasted flavor with some sweetness, but not enough to prevent it from feeling very dry in the mouth. Medium body fullness. A lovely beer, but a bit one-dimentional. (080301) faroeviking (4414), Faroese Autonomous Beer Republic, Denmark Mar 3, 2008 Can. Pours a clear dark red-brown colour. Soft roasty aroma. The flavour is roasty with coffee and bit of chocolate. Roasty soft finish with some chocolate. Thank you Tori for bringing this back from Japan. dunkpigen (306), Kolding, Denmark Mar 9, 2008 Tasting at thewolf. Pours a black with red edges and a beige head. Aroma of coffee and chocolate and roasted malt. Flavour of chocolate and roasted malt with a coffee aftertaste. AvidDirtman (21), , Japan Jul 15, 2008 Poured like tar; thick and impressive. Borderline solid. This stuff was blacker than a chimney sweeps brush. Head was perforated with bubbles like swiss cheese. I expected it to go down like treacle judging by the contents of the glass but it was suprisingly fizzy and light. Roasted malts aroma and taste; like it says on the can. Burnt toast, liquorice and dark chocolate and maybe a smidgin of Terry’s chocolate orange. Taste improved as the beer warmed and found myself thoroughly enjoying this brew. Probably one of the best macro beers i’ve had in Japan.
