1.9 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 7/20
Golden with a nice thick lasting white head. Smells stail and off. Maybe it was. Some fruit, peach and cleaner. Medium thin body. Taste is about the same as smell. Bitter and slightly sour finish. The worst and simplest of the kirkby beers.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Cask gravity at St Albans BF 09. Gold, toffeeish hard malt. Not great, a bit like a 100 other golden beers.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cask at the Wenlock Arms, London on 15th October 2009. Gold with thin whitish head that quickly disperses to a ring. Sharp herby hops and some citric fruity notes. Fairly easy-drinking session ale with a slightly oily texture to the beer, clinging to sides of the mouth. Bitter finish.

2.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Cask conditioned Gravity Dispense St Albans BF 09. A golden coloured beer with a few issues. Nail varnish and glue seem to be a pretty dominant and unwelcome feature. Some odd fruit as well. Didn’t endear itself to me. The view from the church in Kirkby Lonsdale towards the river is lovely though if anyone is interested.
