500ml bottle from Booths, Windermere - Clear gold body, thin soapy white head. Nose is grassy, hay, bit of citrus, a little flowery herbiness there too. Taste is rather unremarkable and washed out, no real highlights. Cool and wet though.

Appearance - golden with a proportionate head.
Nose - a bit elusive and even searching just finds the pale malt.

Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish.
Overall - a bit quiet on the nose nut got better.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Cask at the King’s Head, Ravenstonedale. A pale straw colour with a loose white head; grainy aroma; grainy taste with some citrus; and a grassy bitterness to finish. A pretty good attempt at a "real lager".

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Cask in the Sun Inn, Dent. Gold with a white head. Very little to report. Just a touch of citrus and maybe a little caramel, but lacking in flavour and poor.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Tasted this in the Three Judges, Glasgow in 31st January 2014. Cask, handpump dispense. Crystal clear gold in colour with a thin white head. Sharp citric note of grapefruit and dry dusty hop flowers, clear in the long nose. Thin, resiny mouthfeel and good lacing. Pale malt gives a digestive biscuit base with grapefruit zest cutting through. Bitter hop resins impart a dry hoppy aftertaste. Finish is slightly astringent with hoppy resins giving a citric grapefruit pith note present in the palate. A decent session Golden Ale for the summer months?

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle: Served in a De Koninck taster:
Almost clear yellow straw pour.
Small sized off white bubble foam, more of an off white bubble lacing that quickly disappears and leaves a very thin 1/3rd covering off white lacing island on top of a cloudy yellow colored beer.
Aroma has a high soap and hop tone with some herbs, honey, hay, something light sweet ish and some grainty malts.
Flavour has a smooth and growing bitterness, nice hop and floral tones, light honey, flowers, herbs, malts, citrus, light crispy sparkling, some grapefruit and a hint of yeast.
Aftertaste is pretty strong bitter with nice hop, floral and herbal tones. Pretty good.
Low to medium carbo, soft creamy mouthfeel, low to medium body and light creamy texture.
Nice beer, quite thirstclenching.

(Cask at Edgar Wallace, Strand, London, 20 Nov 2011) Golden colour with foamy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with apricots, citrus and slightly earthy hops. Malty, fruity taste with notes of apricots, orange peel and earthy hops in a finish with a touch of resin. Medium body, with balanced sweetness and a fresh bitterness. Nice one.
