An authentic German style lager brewed with pilsner, dark-roasted Munich, and dark caramel malts. The result is a deep, golden-colored beer with smooth body. The best ingredients create the best beer. We use a bottom-fermenting yeast strain from the Weihenstephan yeast bank from Freising, Germany, and aroma hops from the renowned Hallertau region in Southern Germany. ABV 5.5% Bitterness 22 IBU. Contract brewed for Costco by the Gordon Biersch Brewing Company under the brewer name Hopfen Und Malz (for the west coast market) and since mid 2009 by Matt Brewing as "New Yorker Brewing Co." (for the east coast market).

Clear gold almost no head. Spicy aroma with bready notes. Flavour isn’t very exciting, but ok bread malt flavours, not much hops.

Bottle, Aroma is nice spicy hops and light crisp malt, taste is a bit disappointing, a bland finish, decent though

12oz bottle in Seattle. Darker woody orange. Light sweet yeast aroma, bready malts. Pretty clean in flavor, nothing horrible here. Not as crisp or clean as the real thing though. But a nice enough lager.

Clear copper color with a medium thin off-white head that dissipates quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of toasted malt and hops. Light-bodied with flavors of grainy malt and herbal hops. The finish is semi-sweet with a caramel and stale malt aftertaste. Slightly below average overall.

33 cl bottle, Calgary, AB, Canada. Deep gold colour, thin head. Sweet corn and pepper aroma. Sweet flavour, grainy, with a sweet finish. Would be better if less sweet.

Bottle. White small foamy head over light amber body, toast like aroma, a bit flat hoppy taste, mild carbonation, abrupt finish. Very generic tasting beer.

I bought this at the Costco in Knoxville, for like $19 for a mixed case. So, if nothing else, the price was right. Actually, this wasn’t bad. Crisp, dry, nicely thin bodied. Perhaps a little hoppier than I would have thought for a Vienna, but I liked it.

Gold in color with a cm of white head. Slightly munichy caramel aroma and taste. Straight down the middle, not bad.

Pours with a mild/moderate sized head. Has a VERY mild aroma. Just a touch of grain and corn. Looks a touch darker than a typical lager. A bit of hops and a soft aftertaste. This is an exceptionally light grainy beer with a bit of hoppiness. This is the second from the Kirkland four pack that I’ve tried and it’s about what I expected. Not much for complexity here, I mean it’s certainly no micro-brew, but pretty good for the price bracket that it’s in and I’ll probably buy the 4 pack again.

Not much going on here. Slightly bitter taste. Crystal clear appearance. Flavor was muddled.
