1.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Should have known better buying off-brand beer. I’ll drink most anything but this stuff is truly awful. Made me sick the next day - the rest of the Kirkland beers not much better, I would recommend avoiding.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz bottle pours clear copper with thin dirty white head of foam. The aroma has resiny sort of lime peel and grapefruit pith notes mixing with some roasted malts and biscuit like malts. It seems these malts and hops don’t go too well together. The taste is sadly similar as I get some resiny bitter vaguely citrus hops blending bluntly into combative malt notes that are somewhat roasty. This does not come together very well but it does deliver a decent level of bitterness if that’s all you’re after.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
12oz bottle. Orange-brown with a foamy off-white head. Piny orange resinous aroma...a touch rancid. Factory IPA, soapy caramel. Not really that enjoyable.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle- At the parents’ house. Beer pours a brown with yellow tinge. Smells a little like hops, but does not have much head. Taste has little going for it. Somewhat watery with an odd chemical aftertaste. Just what you’d expect if Costco wanted you to purchase THEIR micro-brew....

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
My house on July 13, 2012. Bottle into pint glass. Two fingers of head. Dark copper amber color. Thick, pillowy, white lacing on the sides. Good retention with pillowy, sporadic, white foam. A bit surprised how red it was.
Smelled a sharp whiff of citrus hops with lime leading the way. Also some noticeable pine notes. Slight sweet floral notes as well. All pretty sharp smells, while not too long lasting.
Tasted fairly close to the nose. Reminded me right away of a stronger version of a Kirkland Pale Ale/Amber hybrid. Fairly smooth in the beginning with some lime and pine citrus hops, before giving way to a sharp bitter alcohol bite.
Medium body. Creamy texture. Average carbonation. Abrupt long finish.
A decent end to the night of trying four Kirkland’s. I’d rate it Amber Ale, Belgian White, IPA and Pale Ale. Beer Advocate’s got it Amber, IPA, Pale Ale and Belgian White. We’ll agree to disagree.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
355mL at a party. Clear amber with a small, beige head. Nutty, soapy aroma. Taste is chemical heavy, nutty, soapy, tangy. Heavily astringent. Lots of lemon detergent. Ick. I always love a good dark amber ’pale’ ale.

3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
first whiff smells like a normal lager with some extra hops. Let it breathe a bit and it improves greatly. not a whole lot of hop bouquet to speak of though. But a good value with some lasting bitterness in there.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle: light amber with off-white head. Aroma is toasty malt with a rather light citrus hop for an ipa. Flavor is toasted malt, bisquity, bitter with some pine with light grapefruit. Palate is mostly bitter with a little caramel sweetness. Ok beer, but no floral hop bouquet or flavor.

Bottle shared in Seattle. Bitter with strong caramel - not heinous, ok for an IPA.
