This is a classic, American-Style pale ale that displays all of the complex bitterness and aroma from the hops of the Yakima Valley in Washington State. By using a top-fermenting ale yeas strain we bring out the floral and herbal flavor profiles. A clean, malty body is developed from the pale and light caramel malt. ABV 5.4% Bitterness 35 IBU. Contract brewed for Costco by the Gordon Biersch Brewing Company under the brewer name Hopfen Und Malz (for the west coast market) and since mid 2009 by Matt Brewing as "New Yorker Brewing Co." (for the east coast market).

light golden pour with medium white head - aroma of malt and very light citrus - flavors of light grapefruit and light bitterness. This would be a good light summer beer and I donít know why it is rated so low!

A good overall value for the beer guy on a budget. You donít have to settle for flavorless garbage to get an inexpensive brew. I would prefer a Sierra Nevada but not bad at all.

A friend of mine bought a case of these mixed Kirklands, so he gave me a couple bottles. Iíd had their IPA before, which wasnít in any way terrible, so Iím having some pleasant anticipation on these. 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a crystal clear pale orange with a good amount of bubbles rising throughout the drink feeding the bone-white head. The nose was basic with mild grains, vegetal hops, greens. Seems to be a standard PA aroma. The mouth is crisp, unsurprisingly with the vast amount of visible bubbles. Medium depth. Good clean finish. Smooth creamy flavors. Mild to moderate bitterness of leafy greens, crackers, some mildly bitter pithy citrus rind. Easy finish. This is in no way offensive. Iíve had some bad Pales that just taste "off," but this was mild and pleasant. Iíd have it again. Itís not earth shattering, but it is easy to drink.

A pretty clean pale ale, not a hop bomb. The Kirkland mixpack is not going to set the world on fire, but itís a decent variety of non-edgy beers that you can throw into the cooler for a picnic with folks with varied tastes. Fetched from the frosty catering cooler at Marquisí wedding reception.

Aroma. Aroma is of citrus and caramel. Appearance.pours a nice light amber colour from bottle. Taste. A slight bitterness on entry, with flavours of caramel, peaches, apricot and citrus. Overall. A pleasent beer, with a nice balance between malt and hop flavours with very little lingering bitterness.

Bottle. Light amber pour, average off-white head. Aroma is lightly hoppy with caramel. Toasty caramel malts with soft ripe-peach hop notes and a moderate bitterness that lingers. Marred by a hard mouthfeel and over-carbonation, but otherwise not bad for a low cost brew.

Head was a bit thick and frothy with decent lacing, didnít linger long. Minimal aromas of citrus and flowers/grass. Light-bodied, crisp, clean with a touch of bitterness. Overall a thin, clear, golden pale ale slightly better than domestics.

Pours a golden orange with a very small off white head which fades to nothing. Aroma is of light citrus, some graham cracker, some caramel, light floral notes, and maybe some pine. Taste is watered down and is similar to aroma expect that there maybe some metallic notes. has a medium-light body with a watery moutfheel and a slightly bitter, slightly metallic, artificial tasting finish. overall, a below average APA that might be decent for the money.

Poured from bottle. Aroma of malt, veggies and hand soap. Amber color with a bit of white head. There are floral hops, malt (not enough), hay in flavor. A bit of a metallic aftertaste. This one needs some work.

Pretty disappointing pale ale. Bitter, and not in a good way, with a boring aroma and uncomplex fizziness on the nose. Carbonation and alcohol content do not blend so well. Skip it.
