This is a classic, American-Style pale ale that displays all of the complex bitterness and aroma from the hops of the Yakima Valley in Washington State. By using a top-fermenting ale yeas strain we bring out the floral and herbal flavor profiles. A clean, malty body is developed from the pale and light caramel malt. ABV 5.4% Bitterness 35 IBU. Contract brewed for Costco by the Gordon Biersch Brewing Company under the brewer name Hopfen Und Malz (for the west coast market) and since mid 2009 by Matt Brewing as "New Yorker Brewing Co." (for the east coast market).

Pretty disappointing pale ale. Bitter, and not in a good way, with a boring aroma and uncomplex fizziness on the nose. Carbonation and alcohol content do not blend so well. Skip it.

Very average very boring but a lot better than I expected. The price is right. Gotta love Costco.

355ml bottle pours a golden orange color with a finger of white head that leaves a few spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is light caramel with mild grassy and citrus notes. Taste is a light caramel malty sweetness with a mild grassy and citrus hoppy bitterness. Definitely not up to par with most American pale ales and a bit disappointing.

Crisp clean and hoppy with a long finish. Good balance with 5.4 percent alcohol. I enjoyed this from a bottle while in Arizona. F Avey---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Metallic citrus, caramel and corn syrup aroma. Light orange-copper color. Fairly sweet with a bitter, husky background. Fresh, crisp body that won’t draw much complaining. Not great...better than a 9 score though.

From a bottle. This actually wasn’t bad. Mild hops and some sweetness, with considerable fruit and citrus. Easy to drink, A decent American pale ale.

Clear orangish amber with a white head. Aroma of oranges, some grapefruit, caramel, grass. Plainly sweet caramel, citrus and pine notes, modest bitterness. A little on the sweet side, but quite OK for what it is.

Poured a clear golden with a decent head and some lacing. Breeady aroma with citris notes. Has some complexity, but some soapiness. A pretty-well made beer at a great price.

value-wise, the rating doesn’t reflect the beer. It is a watered-down version of a preferred pale ale but it gets the job done on a hot day.

12 oz bottle. Best before 01-15-2013. Pours a translucent copper color with a small white head that has fair retention. The aroma was very mild with minerals, sweet malts and some indistinct grains. The flavor was hoppy with lightly spicy hops, grains, filberts, pepper and a hint of molasses. The palate was full and smooth with lively carbonation. Finished short and dry with a bit of saccharine. Overall: OK pale ale, meh.
