Schmaranoia (10) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 30, 2013
Dark amber in colour with a good coffee or parchment head. Excellent balance of coffee and medium malts. Good sweetness, but with rather a strong alcohol taste for a porter of this strength. I would say that this is a very good example of a British Porter.

tombyars (1374) - Saltcoats, SCOTLAND - SEP 21, 2013
Tasted this at the Paisley Beer Festival in September 2013. Cask, handpump dispense. Ruby black in colour with a light creamy buff head. Sweet malty aroma with treacle toffee and mocha coffee notes present. Superb thick creamy mouthfeel and good lacing throughout. Dark complex malts give a huge spectrum of flavours. Initial roast malts give a smokey roast grain flavour which gives way to a smooth treacle tart base with juicy dates, raisins, sultanas and molasses. A vague hint of damp earthy hops in the short aftertaste but this fades away. Finish is strong and malty with rich notes of plain chocolate, mocha coffee, treacle fudge, liquorice and vanilla oak cask flavours full in the mouth. This was the best porter by far at the Paisley Beer Festival and I had a few! Highly recommended and well worth seeking out if you like a decent porter.

Scopey (6932) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 6, 2013
Cask at CP&K. It pours darkest brown (near black) with small beige head. The nose is scortched earth, leather, roasted malt, charcoal and pepper. The taste is wood, earth, dark fruit, berry, roasted malt, toast, decent bitterness and charcoal with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. A solid porter all-round.

Cask handpull at Mr Foley’s, Leeds. Delicious porter, great texture, quite thick. Almost black with a light coloured head - the perfect looking pint in my opinion. Chocolate, coffee, vanilla aroma. Most enjoyable.

Cask. Dark ruby ale with a steady mid tan head. Lots and lots of chocolate on the nose. Loads more chocolate in the mouth, with a nice thin creamy texture and some coffee notes. Finish is bitter coffee espresso and a bit of stewed fruit. Delicious!
